I have decided to start on my road to self improvement. As most of yall know I made a post on here (and on another forum) about whether my reason for my plastic surgery were legit. I have decided that they were because they made me look better physically and they made people stop looking at me. So now, I need the inside to match the outside. I am going to try to be less reclusive. To help me on this journey, I have ordered two book. "The Feeling Good Handbook" which was suggested by Smunkeeville, and "New Psycho-Cybernetics". The reason I chose this one was what my friend said when he suggested this book.
It was written back in 1950's or 1960's, I'm not sure exactly when. You should be able to find this book at any bookstore. Maxwell Maltz was a plastic surgeon, and he observed that some of his patients did not change after their plastic surgery and they still were in their old self-defeating mode. So, he wondered about it, and he did so much of research on this problem. As a result of his work, he wrote that self-image is the main problem, and he shows techniques in how to improve your self-image. Unlike many self-improvement books, this book is purely based on scienitific principles and the author's experiences with his patients. The book is all about improving your self-image and how use your imagination to direct your "success mechanism" to accomplish what you want in your life.
Hopefully these two books will help. However I am going to try to hold on as much of my personality and ideology as I can, because hey they're me, some of the traits I've picked up while being reclusive have actually help me. So there's a balance I have to strike. So wish me luck.
