Scarsdale, NY
I know this may seem a bit random, but someone I know is moving to the town of Scarsdale in New York state and I was wondering if anyone here was from there or knows a bit about it. Considering the vast number of people who post here, I assume there must be at least one person from Scarsdale.
Anyway, could you tell me about the area, what it's like? I assume that it is a rich white boy type town with many preppy/snobby kids but I am not certain. Could you fill me in on what it's like? Thank you.

I live not far from scarsdale. Sometimes I shop in the best buy or go to the movies there.
It's alright. Taxes are high, but the school district is good. It's very suburban tho' and a lot of the people suck. Not much nightlife or anything either.
oh ya, and all the kids are on ritalin/bulemic or something.
it's where the diet comes from too.

Never heard of it. What's so bad about a preppy town? You've got low crime, good schools, a good lifestyle overall.

Ok, what I definitely didn't want was an official website of the city. I was the non-official tourist version of people who live there. Are the kids a bunch of spoiled assholes? Is it a conservative cesspool? Is there anything to do? That kind of stuff, directly from a teenager's mouth.

I'm from Yonkers. Scarsdale is a rich town, but Bronxville is a lot nicer. Scarsdale tends to make the news a lot because they apparently have a disproportionate amount of stupid teenagers. It seems like every summer some teenager almost kills themselves from drowning at a pool party.
And anyone who says Eastchester, Yonkers, Greenburg and most of those towns are low income, needs to actually leave Scarsdale and see those towns.
