um...no NOT in ANY way shape or form. I don't know much about mi5, but I do know the NSA has a long dark history of abusing rights and power. Are you so afraid for your saftey that your willing to give up freedoms? In America, we did not build our country like that, we built it on Independence, Freedom, and Rights. Not saying secret organizations shouldnt exist here.

Ok as i've said before. I'm only thanking them on this occasion, not for everything they've done. I don't want to here your whining about how your rights are supressed because they know you bought a sofa the other week.

It's not like i would care if they knew or not. It's not like someone is actually spying on you, they just have records stored away somewhere that no one will ever look at unless you are a threat to peoples lives.

I'm thankful that despite our wide, gaping, and large differences (In society, culture, and other things) we can still come together on one thing-

WOT
Stopping AQ
Stopping Terrorist attacks
Enjoying soccer

;)

Everything else is fair game, however, for brutal rivalry.

That's different, I agree.

But if they actually went out of their way to seek out what I bought...then I'd be worried.

The NSA servers don't pick up things such as sofas.

Unless they are imported.

And then, if you're name is Abdullah Ftheusa Mohammed bin laden

And especially if you mentioned "Package" "Suprise" "infidels" "Allahu ackbar" "ALlah be praise".

Well done, now get the fuck out of my liberties. And, MI5, stop stealing money from the NIO to build your new NI HQ, and give the money to the PSNI so they can get on with their new training academy which would do so much good for regular policing.

yeah...howabout waiting to see if anyone is actually charged with an offence and convicted....

Ricin plot - all suspects released

Forest Gate - no plot...one person charged for child pr0n

de Menizes - executed...no terror link

700 odd people arrested....17 court cases....2 people convicted...

the track record is shit.

Are you talking about arrests relating to Mi5? If so then thats about 0.1% of their record.

Anyway, the evidence is far too strong to deny that they saved thousands of people.

Didn't the terrorists even admit to doing so?

MI5 do not have the power to arrest. That is left to Special Branch.

What evidence? I've not seen nor heard any evidence...all I've heard is spokesmen telling me this.

Why should I believe them? As it is one person has already been released with no charge...

Are you telling me I should believe everything these people say given their track record?

I said arrests RELATING to Mi5, not from Mi5.

Watch the news then.

Are you telling me I should believe everything these people say given their track record?

Do you mean the 0.1% track record that you provided.

MI5 - How do you mean then? I am not entirely sure of what you point is...can you explain what you mean?

The News - Well all I have seen on the news so far is a succession of talking heads but no real evidence...I'd have thought (as they did with the IRA) if they found evidence it would be on TV faster than you could say Newsnight!

So - Well if one person has already been released...and given the trak record so far it does not fill me with confidence that there actually was 'a plot'.

0.1% - Sorry but you have lost me here as well. I am not certain what it is you are trying say. I did not provide a 0.1% track record. All I provided was that out of all the cases that have been publicised non have actually turned out to have people convicted.

I am very thankful for the great job that the NSA does everyday, along with the CIA, FBI, defense department, and White House. The fact that America has been free of terrorism on our home soil since 911 is a great testament to what a great job they are doing....even with a media that betrays them at every turn.

I think NSers in the US and UK should organize rallies outside the various (known) buildings these organizations run out of, we can wave signs saying "WE LOVE YOU NSA!" and "I WANT YOU TO IMPREGNATE MY WIFE!".
That ought to confuse them ;)

I highly doubt you could get any worse than crashing a plane into the World Trade Centre. But it still helps when your Secret Service actually does something. All I can say is :upyours: to al-Quadia.

Well said. Thankfully out governments have the ability to use agencies such as the NSA to give them at shaft in more than a proverbial way.

here here to f*#&ing al-Queda up.

Seriously, these people are protecting us from seriously crazy people who want to hurt us - I think they deserve a heck of a lot of respect! I'm serious - we should be happy that they are there to protect us - how about showing our appreciation with "NSA agents eat free" days or something? They certainly deserve something like that.
