Okay, it took me awhile to figure out the best way to do this but I got it on the 2nd try. Not bad for a Canuck.

Okay, lets see who else knows their US Geography.

Nailed it. I'm always a little iffy on the New England states, but I made up time in the west and south.

... Wait, wait, wait. Just because I don't know the 50 states of the USA because I'm from (Oh My Sweet Jesus!) OVERSEAS I immediately suck at geography?

Those poll options are might suspicious.

I didn't think I'd get them all right in the first attempt, but doing them methodically and guesstimating the ones I didn't know after having placed all the ones I did know proved a pretty solid strategy.

Now, this is completely pointless knowledge for me. I blame the Swedish school system for being too good. It should have failed me in this.

It wasn't all that hard. Of course I had to guess at a few in the middle of the country, but its not like anything west of the mississippi is that important anyway.

California, where the films are made?

Nevada, where the whores are?

I got those two. I was referring more to the soft creamy middle bit (above texas).

It always confuses me.

Sorry. As a Canadian, we had to learn about US Geography. Had to name all the States and their capitals. Sheesh!!

If you are not from North America then ya don't suck it you can't get the test.

Of course, it seems that's about all we've got going for us a lot of the time, but we take what we can get.

They talk even funnier south of the Mason-Dixon line, and the food is better, too..

And the parts of the Old South that are west of the mighty Mississippi (Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas, for those who can't figure that out) talk "funniest" (Cajun) and have the best food of all (Cajun, Creole, and Tex-Mex, in addition to Southern cuisine).

Why pre-1959?

It would be hard to put Hawaii and Alaska in with the continental United States?

No kidding. I drove through my old stomping grounds a couple of weeks ago--south Louisiana--and had some of the best food I'd had in years. A muffaletta from the Central Grocery on Decatur St in New Orleans. Boudin from Sulphur, LA. A five course dinner at Tujague's. And etoufee from The Gumbo Shop on St. Peter's St. I'm drooling just thinking about it.

I have mixed feelings about it. I can't remember the name of the semi-new Foreign Minister, but I can place the individual states of the USA on a map.

Guess which is of more value to me.

Why pre-1959?

Alaska joined January 3, 1959

It would be hard to put Hawaii and Alaska in with the continental United States?

They're still states, though. That doesn't excuse leaving them off.

Only way I get good food like that is to make it myself. Fortunately I can get everything I need for my gumbo. :D Except for the cajun andouille. :(

Aced it of course. However the test is flawed; placing Michigan's name on the western-most portion will not give a positive result. I guess whoever coded that swf couldn't be bothered to allow for non-contiguous states. What a n00b.

Hey, that's not very fair, nor is it accurate. California alone possesses the economy of a small NATION. Most of the states west of the Mississippi also provide quite a few fine services.

Plus, the landscape is beautiful. I far prefer living in Colorado to any state east of the Mississippi, all things considered.

As for the test: easy peasy. Though I was rather tired at time of taking and made a couple stupid mistakes at first.

I'm sorry, but I'm just a wee bit anal when it comes to my state. :D

That was retarded. Accroding to that "test" the U.P. isn't part of Michigan and the Delmarva penninsula is just the Delmar penninsula. Got it on the first try. Although it took me three tries to get Michigan because of the aforementionsed not recognizing of the U.P. as part of it.

It was just meant to be a bit of fun and a bit of a challenge. As my 17 year old son would say......."chill".

Well, at least I'm not thye only one who wondered about Alaska and Hawaii (and just to add, the Michigan thing was odd). All in all, this is just a poorly done version of the many variations on this test, which is why people are bitching.

As expected, all those silly little Eastern states did me in. A result that, coincidentally, I foresaw (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=11493536&postcount=91) not even a week ago on these very pages. :p
