Damn you, PM, I wasn't talking to you:p .

Much as I hate to defend Microsoft, if the updates worked the second time it's far more likely to have been a random problem at your end due to the power outage you mention.

Sometimes you get a bad packet in transit. I hardly see how a one bad file (which was rectified with the second download) is Microsoft's fault. Y'might want to take some time and learn how t3h intarw3b works before you scream at Microsoft, mm'kay.

Ow... this is making my retnas bleed.

Uhm... so, what is the problem? The fact that you can't communicate coherently?

Yeah, I hate microsoft. Everyone gushes over how cool it is that Bill Gates is rich, but you know what? I really don't care. His stuff is crap.

If you machine had been corrupted by the power outage than installing anything new would be liable to make things worse. The fact that the update worked once you had restored the machine to a previous working state suggest that, for once, it's not Microsoft's fault.

So might you … if a security update does not do any sort of basic checksum (md5 or bitwise or other) then it IS Microsoft’s problem because there is NO excuse for allowing for transport error when there is all kind of built in ability to avoid it. Especially with an update key to your OS.

That having been said I think it is probably a user end issue rather then a transport or Microsoft sided thing

Remember, it's not a malfunction, it's a feature :p

I simply provided a possibility.

That you did … but you were trying to belittle the poster (though with his style he might deserve it) for lack of knowledge on the internet which is why I responded how I did

Anyways I am fairly sure that M$ does md5 (I seem to remember getting a checksum error in the past) if so the possibility of the hashes matching is miniscule, and if they were also using tcp with checksums it puts it at about near 0 as I can compute

Probably something on client side OS flurked with the install if I had to guess anyways

If you arn't accusing Microsoft of causing a power outage, this topic should be closed.

Which makes it even more admirable that he's rich.
