A tribute to Clone High

For those of you who was around when MTV went through their Road Rules, Celeberity Deathmatch, Daria type TV show phase, there was a show called Clone High. The premise of it was that back in the 1980's the government decide to clone famous dead people to use them in an army. The show takes place when the clones are in High School. I've watched a few espisode on YouTube the past few days, and I gotta say I really missed this show! It was really brillantly written, and was just so funny. The best line of the whole series (which only lasted one season, damn you MTV!) was when they had the espisode about sleep deprivness and PSAT. In this espisode Abe Lincoln is staying up all the time to study for the test, and being a slave to Cleo. Joan of Arc and Ghandi tries to get him to sleep, and on and on. Anyways at the end of the espisode JFK and Abe have a race for Cleo's heart, and JFK was winning, and he said "HA HA, Nothing ever bad happens to the Kennedys!" His car flips over soon after that. Ahhh the laughes that provided.

So what did yall think of this short lived show?

The show's concepts and idea are most interesting.

I remembered the depiction of Ghandi caused an uproar in India even if it isn't shown there.

Christ, a tribute? That show is still airing in Canada. At this rate, I'm gathering I'll see 'Reminiscences of Harvey Birdman' as a forum thread on NSG any moment now.

That's what VCRs were meant for.

C'mon, Wilgrove - how long has it been off-air for, anyway? One season?

It's a little soon to be eulogizing a cartoon.

Hmm, let's see. I was still in High School myself when I last saw it , around the same time Celeberity Deathmatch was around, hmm, it's def been off for more than a year here in the states.

How many seasons did Canada get? We only got one here.

Yea, it was only aired in 2002 here in the states. So it's been off for about 4 years here.

There was only the 1 season. The show was brilliant!

A Clone High DVD was released in Canada on September 20, 2005.

From the same episode mentioned above.

Glenn: Hi, I'm Glenn. I'm the school janitor. Ponce was like a son to me, probably because he was my foster son. My dead foster son.(he sobs) Son, I just want you to know...

Scudworth: Oh, janitor, some kid vomited in the hallway. Could you make with the sawdust and clean it up?

Glenn: Ah, yeah, but I'm kinda giving my son's eulogy right now.

Scudworth: Doo yeah. If you could just do it now...your son will still be dead when you get back.
