I've sat at home on my computer.

This Summer I have worked on a project, get applications for Graduate School ready, studied for the GRE, and went to AirVenture, at Oshkosh WI.

Well I've been beat up twice and unable to move for nearly the whole Summer as a result.

this summer?

went to pa, twice. went to hilton head. went to the beach....a lot (AND NO TAN OR BURN! WTF?). Drank not a lot of beer for a summer (which im proud of :D ). But besides that i just worked.

Hm, spent a lot of time just chillin and killin. Roamed the streets a lot of a nights, and every now and again my friends and I would get bored so we'd grab firecrackers and throw them at people's doors at 2 AM. Yeah, we're hoodlums. :p

Went to a couple parties here and there, but these suburbanites really need to head to the city to learn a thing or two about a party... Um, oh, went to the beach for a bit. ....Met some chicks there, got wasted, blitzed, etc. Ripped it up on some pretty nice waves.

Went to some skate parks, but that got old. Headed to DC to skate, got chased away by cops from at least half the street corners of the District. Headed back to Stafford to skate some shopping centers and the like, got chased away from those by cops too... Seriously, what is up with people and hatin on skateboarders? It's cool for people to ride bikes and fruitboots, but when it comes to a skateboard, it's like someone's unleashing satan or somethin... pisses me off...

Well, after all that, didn't do much. So here I am, bored out of mind. Man I need a beer...

This summer I have...

drunk lots and lots of beer.
read about 15 books
hosted a big beach party
been to a few cookouts/bbqs
scared 2 children to tears by simply saying "hello" (in a kind gentle friendly manner, I might add)
been to a titty bar
been to several roof balcony parties
been to Universal Studios Japan 3-4 times (including in the pouring rain - w/o an umbrella)
been on vacation for 3 days now
cooked my nice grilled meatballs (ground chicken & pork, onions, a bit of lemon and orange, Worcestershire sauce, 3 kinds of hot sauce, and fresh and ground habanero peppers, grilled in the orange and lemon peel "shells")
angered a neighbor who ate one of the above when the guy I passed it too passed it to her minus my warning about the spiciness
replaced the keyboard on this computer
re-intalled the OS on this computer twice (due to viruses)

and lottsa other stuff

I worked, played in mud, got tackled a lot, did a lot of tackling, taught my son how to blow bubbles in his milk(pity he's no longer breastfed. :D ), Created a new villain on City of Villains and raised him to level 31, read several books, boinked my wife, learned a new clowning skill(unicycling), and corrupted the minds of my nephews. :)

On June 6th, I impregnated a jackal.

Been to Shanghai, stayed at the Peace Hotel (built in 1906), visited a silk factory, bought lots of silk stuff (shirt, quilt, wallhanging for mum), ate lots of great Shanghai food.
Did some hikes around Hong Kong (you'd be surprised how much of HK is still bush)
Planning on going to Taiwan next week
Still thinking about going to Guilin, China.
Been doing quite a bit (but still not enough) rowing on my erg.
Lay on my fat arse eating chocolates and watching DVDs.
Read books.

designed and built a new database-driven website (inc doing the database parts myself) wot gets 50k hits a month

Nahhhh...It was done to benefit both her and the photographer and make-up artist, they all got something out of it and no money changed hands, but she gets to add to her portfolio for free and they get to use her as a model for free, so its a win win situation for them all starting out in the business.

No, really. All I've done is party and be a jobless student on a break. I love my life :D

this summer i have...

been arrested for assault and drunk and disorderly;
charged with breach of the peace;
passed some exams;
fallen in and then out of love;
got an awesome new flat;
spent too much time on here;
and so far avoided doing any work for my dissertation.

oh yeah, and i've been working.

this summer I have...

started a support group for kids
been in a car accident
learned enough html to make a crappy website
walked away from a publishing co. that was going to publish my book
accidentally killed my husband's fish (singular, the other 4 seem fine)
began working on the screen play for a film
got "disowned" for not bailing my cousin out of jail
broke my foot
got 2 new scars
learned way more about quantum physics than I wanted to
read about 36 books
missed the local Trek convention :(
went to a few baseball games
helped my friend move
called a bunch of senators
began compiling data for a computer program that my husband is writing for me
figured out the meaning to life
went to every single Softball game in hubby's league, and only got in trouble with the official 3 times (which is pretty good)
made up a board game
watched some really bad movies


I think that's about all......

This summer...

I have been mostly eating acorns

This summer I did my exams (and probably failed them)
Went to a music festival where I drank, moshed, got stoned and had one hell of a good time.
Started driving lessons
Lost my virginity
Went camping and set fire & blew up a variety of things on the campfire
Had a "fight" with a chav
And broke two bikes then repaired them

I've sat at home on my computer.

I did not do too much more than that... except chatting with God.

Sold one house and bought another.

Moved into new house with three kids and all our possessions. Including a freaking piano.

Had company picnic/BBQ at my new house.

Took family back to ocean/beach.

Took family on hike to top of Dingman's Falls in National Park.

Worked.

Installed natural gas pipe in father's new house. Installed PVC vent and waste pipes, then all fesh water copper/Pex. Next-heating pipe.

Circumnavigated lake/island at new house with kids in a rowboat several times.

Kids to several different amusement/waterparks/game farms/zoos.

Read 3 books. Started building a stone outdoor fireplace/BBQ

I left out all the boring stuff- the house is brand new, so we needed to hook up all utilities, cable, internet, several phone lines.
We had to title and register both cars and get new driver's licenses (We moved to a different state).

We still have a ton of stuff to do, but two of my kids start school at the end of this month and we'll have more time to get stuff done.

I'm also drawing up a plan and shopping list for a tree house I am going to build them-without them knowing it. Then suggest we sleep out in it as a way to break the surprise.

Seriously, I boxed up like 5 monitor boxes full of clothes and pushed them down the street on my kids' wagon, gave them to someone else, and got rid of 6 trash bags of misc (gave to goodwill) and then threw away 10 more trash bags of stuff.....

I have someone coming later to pick up more stuff from the garage.

for the third time this week he threw my paper (not in the little plastic bag thingy mind you) right into my flower bed where the sprinklers were going..not into the yard that was dry, or in the driveway (also dry) or even put it into the little box where it's supposed to go, but throws it right into the mud and mulch getting it soggy and sticky..............

I caught him today, and I said "why do you throw it there? why don't you put it somewhere intelligent"

and he said "why don't you shove it up your ass?"

so I threw it at him, hit him too, knocked him off his stupid little bike.
