According to the police there were 450 000 spectators and at least 30 000 in the parade. I am so glad I went! :)
Here's a video! (http://www.aftonbladet.se/atv/player.html?catID=10&clipID=10019)
And a couple of my fave pics:

Not the gay police, just police officers who are gay. You would not believe how cute the guy in front was - this pic does him no justice.

Great photos. I went to the Sydney Mardi Gras for the first time this year and, if the Stockholm Pride Festival was anything like it, the pictures can't do it justice. The emotion and atmosphere is marvellous at this sort of thing. It's always very encouraging when I see things like this.
And you're right. Those of us in the leather community have a nice flag. I personally think the rainbow pride flag is the best though, simply because of it's vibrancy. Lost count of how many people I've pissed off by saluting when one is waved.:D
And for the record, I'm in complete shock that we have a queer thread here without anyone using the smilie with the two guys making out yet.:fluffle:

None that I saw. I read in the paper when I got home that it had actually passed by without any incidents.

They were joining in. Christianity in the Swedish church tends to be gay friendly; there are gay and lesbian priests (I saw a lesbian bishop in the parade), and the Swedish Church blesses gay marriages, so they're pretty decent people.

You've never called internationally, have you?
+46 means you have to add your country's international direct dialing prefix (in Sweden it's 00 and in Canada 001) and then enter 46, which is Sweden's country code, and then you have to enter the area code without the initial zero, in this case 08 without the zero for Stockholm, and then the actual phone number.
Nope
You add "+44" instead of the first "0" for the UK, "+46" for Sweden, "+1" for the US, "+33" for France etc.
I'm surprised you've never come across it...

The US also uses it for long distance calls...not sure if other countries do that, but to call even the other side of the state, I have to dial 1 before the area code (CT is area codes 203 and 860. I live in 860. To call a town in 203, I have to dial 1-203 then the number)
And that parade looks like a pretty good time. Huge too. Normally, I don't like parades and the like, but that one actually looks like a decently good time

Canada does as well, as far as I'm aware. I know that my phone company does. In fact, if I'm calling my boyfriend who only lives a half-hour away, I need to include the '1' even though he's in the same area code as me.

It was good that all those people went. Hopefully sends a message to people in the Baltic states that they need to keep struggling - that just across the Baltic sea there is a place where 450 000 people come to support gay Pride, instead of to pelt it with eggs and faeces. Hopefully it sends a message to the pelters, too, that their efforts are futile and that they will lose. Big.
