Last I heard, wasn't a boat from Japan recalled after that happened, even though it was carrying a dirty bomb and headed for San Francisco?

Been to the site. The Memorial is a...strange place. It seems very odd to feel such peace in a place that took such titanic violence.

If I had invented an atomic bomb(unlikely as I usually find more creative means of causing trouble than total destruction) I would at least have it release huge clouds of red and white sparkles. That'd be pretty. :)

UMMM...america dropped the bomb, its still the 5th over here. we're not gonna celebrate the end of a cruel military dictatorship for another 4.5 hours.

Know what I find ironic? It took the devestation of both atomic bombs(which were, ironicly, designed as peace makers) to topple a dictatorship as racist and brutal as the imperial Japanese's.
