The Godfather trilogy featured some of the greatest actors of the latter half of the 20th century. Who would you say was the greatest?

Ahhh so hard to choose, i'll just be safe and go for Deniro, with Pacino close behind.

I'm going with Cazaale. He only appeared in 5 films during his short life. All were nominated for "Best Picture." He is the only actor to achieve that feat. He died way too young of cancer. His death in "Godfather Part II" is one of the most famous scenes in cinema history.

That's what makes the Godfather trilogy so amazing, the list of actors.

Godfather could have sucked without Brando. It would have been very easy to mess up that part.

The Godfather trilogy is purely a work of art. Even Godfather: Part III. It is actually quite good, just not as good as Parts I and II. THe AFI had to list the trilogy at #2 on their list of the 100 best films of all time It would be unfair to have 2 films in the top 5. These movies have stood the test of time and will do so for decades. Lord of the Rings won't do so and Titanic has already failed that test.

III is there to piss me off. It would have been better if it were cut to 45 minutes.

I think that was Fredo who got that one. John Cazaale (Fredo) is the most underrated actor in history. No one knows who he is because he died so young. He only appeared in 5 movies before succombing to bone cancer. Every movie he was in was nominated for best picture at the Oscars.
