Muslims just aren't interested in having fun.

Alton towers, a theme park in Britain, had to cancel it's "Muslim fun day" because of lack of interest. They were going to have halal food, special dress codes for the employees, prayer areas and rides segregated by sex. They were also going to stop serving alcohol and stop playing music. Sounds like loads of fun, doesn't it? Maybe Muslims just don't like having fun and would rather grumble about dead Lebanese, or maybe they just realized a theme park without junk food, scantily dressed women, alcohol and music just plain sucks.

Maybe they realised that even a large part of british muslims were utterly outraged about the openly racist attitude of the organisers.

Lots of british muslims were openly decrying the hallal-only attitude in words more usually uttered by far right.

In my experience, it's always the women who have no business being scantily clad that are at theme parks.

WTF? Couldnt they have played some Cat Stevens?? Perhaps kept the junk food and not segregated everyone? I've never heard about how Muslims are forbidden to ride theme park rides with their S.O.'s

Are you kidding? WHen I lived in Calif., I was always happy that I was goign to Magic Mountain, Knotts Berry Farm or Disneyland because there was always the chance of hooking up with some hotty in a mini skirt. Why else would they have the log ride? It's for the wet t-shirts silly.

sounds rubbish, i'm not surprised no-one went. my local mosque serves free curry throughout the festival, now that's fun - good atmosphere, especially when it's sunny so you can eat outside - and it's not conditional on seeing their 'discover islam' exhibition either, which is interesting enough but i've seen it once already while i've been for a curry tonnes of times.

Uh, do you really think that will attract Muslims? Most would be highly offended by that. My closest friends who are Muslims would get a kick out of it, and go dressed as Terrorists to have some fun, but the majority would likely not hold their views.

Why, exactly, would they be offended by an attempt to draw more business? A theme park caters to a specific religious sect, and thats an insult?

I must be missing a step.

Then again, I think people are just assholes nowadays and looking for reasons to be offended.

indeed you are missing a step. the implication of having a special event catering to the stereotypical members of a religion is that those people would be viewed with suspicion and not welcomed during normal opening times, even if such a policy is not officially endorsed.
