Israel launched a major attack deep into Lebanon early today, and Hezbollah said its guerrillas were fighting Israeli commandos on the ground in a hospital near the north eastern town of Baalbek.

"A group of Israeli commandos was brought to the hospital by a helicopter. They entered the hospital and are trapped inside as our fighters opened fire on them and fierce fighting is still raging," Hezbollah spokesman Hussein Rahal told The Associated Press.

Hezbollah's Al-Manar TV reported the fighting was taking place in the Al-Hikma Hospital west of Baalbek.

The Israeli army would not comment.

The internet website of the Israeli daily Haaretz reported that "Helicopters put down IDF commandos near Baalbek," without adding details.

Some witnesses said that the hospital had been hit in an Israeli airstrike, and was burning.

And do you actually believe that the Israeli soldiers are trapped inside the hospital and that fierce fighting is still going on?

I've made numerous invitations for you to comment on the illegal weapons shipments to Hezbollah from Iran and Syria and their violations of UN resolutions as well as Hezbollah attacking Isreali civilians over the years. You've ignored them and selectively replied to quotes containing them just like this reply from you.

Despite the fact that under 1559, it is illegal to do so? Under the UN Security Council Resolutions carry the full weight of International Law and are binding upon all UN Member states. Since Syria and Iran are both violating UN Resolution 1559, they are violating International Law.

What's funny is that Hezbollah, like the Iraqi Information Minister, denies that any of their men were captured, deny that the hospital was taken by the IDF, and insist that all IDF soldiers killed in that battle were shot in the back while running away.

You are a hypocrit if you condemn the US for opposing UN resolutions yet support countries violating UN resolutions.

You now admit "you see" Isreal as the agressor when it has been Hezbollah launching rockets at civilian centers for years and making cross border raids to violate international law by kidnapping soldiers and holding them for ransom.

My point is you refuse to condemn those countries in violation of UN resolutions who are arming this recognized terrorist group, claim Isreal is the agressor when it's Hezbollah who has instigated this conflict as well as continued targetting of Isreali civilians and then selectively respond to posts.

You also claim that Isreal is the agressor when it was Hezbollah who raided Isreal and violated international law as well as continued targetting of civilians even before that.

You support illegal weapons transfers to a recognized terrorist organization because you "don't agree w/ it" yet condemn the US for vetoing UN resolutions.
