The Fly

I was watching The Fly the other day and I've been thinking. If Brundle did not absorb the fly, he didn't kill it and neither did the monkey then what happened to it? Did it slowly transform into a tiny Jeff Goldblum?

I assume that "The Fly" isn't the crappy Belfast trendy bar, and Brundle doesn't mean ex-F1 driver and commentating legend Martin Brundle?

I've never heard of it...what is it?

Yup, a fly with a white head. It was crying "help me! help me!"

Yes. No. Maybe.

In the original movie 'The Fly' with Vincent Price, the man ended up with a fly head and the fly ended up with a human head and it got caught in web at the end of the movie going 'help me! help me!' in a tiny voice.

But in the newer version with Jeff(I'm not as creepy as Christopher Walken but I'm close) Goldblum, they two were merged into one creature genetically. There was no exchange. Only a fusion.

It's a movie based on a movie based on a short story by a Frenchman about a scientist dude who invents a teleporting machine. When he tests it a fly get in it with him and he slowly transforms in a giant fly.

Very useful when you need to climb a wall, lay eggs on shit, and stuff.

In the original, yes. We saw what happened to the actual fly.

In the 1986 re-telling, though, there weren't separate entities that shared DNA, but both entities absorbed into a single brundlefly - which is my nation's national animal.

The Fly is a movie about teleportation gone awry and it's more modern remake. *nod*

The premise is that a fly gets inside the chamber with the man being teleported. Mayhem ensues.

You can't go wrong with a Cronenberg film.

While on a 10 hour layover in taipei taiwan my sister took advantage of the airport/city hospitality and had a free tour of "The museum of the fly" there.

Turns out that the museum had airplanes in it.

He never absorbed the fly though, he asked the computer and it said negative.

The later vesion also has a remake called 'The Fly 2' in which the original scientist's kid has some genetic anomalies that begin to express as he gets older. He finds out what's happening to him, and devises a cure, but other interests have big plans for him that don't involve cures. *nod*

It was like a fart after eating beef stew the night before; Not too horrifying, and in an odd way, rather pleasant.

That's ok. The hugest plothole is that he didn't absorb anything else either. None of the bactereum or demodex or anything like that.

There's a fly somewhere with Jeff Goldbloom's head who is freaking out all the other flies.
