I'd say Israel would win any invasion it wants to launch in the middle east of course the rest of the world would stay out of it so it wouldn't be WWIII just part of the ongoing global war that has been happening since the Russo-Japanese war (yep too much channel 4 for me)

Israel would ultimately lose in a long occupation especially if it uses the trademark Israeli heavy handedness so you could say that no one would win (though Israel would lose the least)

depends really right now the only country supporting Isreals back is the U.S so the world wins....and we get lots of snow yay! (albeit being rather black and with a texture of human skin)

but if its the supporters of Israeli sovereignty VS those who want there land back I'd say the West because they have all the guns and there fighting about 3 piss poor nations

The West wins by default. If it looks exceptionally grim, the nuclear arsenals of Israel, the UK, the US and France light off all over Irans ass.

There are two ways to answer the question:

1) "The West wins!"
2) "In such a war, no one really 'wins'..."


Option one and two seem to both be reasonable responses.

In any response based in reality, the Middle East loses.

It's not even a question worth debating. One of the most amusing things about the Middle East is that their entire scheme is based on the assumption that America is too much of a nice guy to exercise full retaliative strength against them.

If we really, really wanted to, every country in the Middle East could be in total anarchy in less then a week - without nukes. We pwn them massively in every form of military strength, and with the airforce alone we could bomb all of their capitals, military bases, and energy generation centers. *bam* They've fallen apart.

Look at what Israel, a speck on the map that receives most of its military funding from the US, is doing in Lebanon right now, and compare it to what the hugely larger, wealthier, and more powerful US could do if the stupid tinpot tyrants truly evoked the wrath of the sleeping giant.

yep the world could kick Americas ass if it got serious and actually started funding are own militaries instead of just getting America to have a base in the country hell Europe could beat America senseless if it got a year or two to prepare never forget that. (but if it came too it a nasty set of embargos could cripple an already weak U.S saving us some trouble)

Also note aircraft make a habit of getting shot down when there not wanted somewhere especially slow cargo planes
