Keep it TEAL
I personally like the practice we use on another board I frequent. We use TEAL whenever we are being sarcastic. It actually makes the experience a lot more enjoyable. It makes us more willing to write the deep dark hilarious thoughts that we have, but don't want taken literally. I think it would add a bunch of character to the NSG board if we started using teal.
Go Cubs!
Sarcasm is no fun when it's blatant.
Your idea would take all the fun out of it. I don't care if I get taken seriously when I'm being sarcastic; it's the other person's fault for not getting it. They should highlight their stupidity in bright yellow.

Umm...Sarcasm, at least good sarcasm, relies a little on ambiguity -- that is it is supposed to border on truth and irony. What you advise is very good idea.

I think this is an excellent idea!:D
EDIT: Darn it, somebody beat me! I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE!!!!
This is just exactly what we need. One more way be obtuse and to confuse noobs and to deny responsibility for what we write. This will really work well in the moderation forum along with a cowardly lil "mods only" tag.
This is the good idea.
But you should see this is the sort of case you use it in. This clearly denotes that you "support" of the plan is clearly sarcastic. That statement would sound like reasonable support without the teal.

I wasn't being Sarcastic.
You'd never make it in England -- you'd have everyone wearing teal hats.

Maybe if people who posted became more apt at composing compelling sarcasm it would "add a bunch of character" to the board?

It ruins the fun of sarcasm: When an idiot doesn't get it and you can laugh at them. Awesomeness.
Boo, you people have really hurt my feelings.:(

It would spell the end for the art of subtle sarcasm.
You'd be screwed if you lived in the UK, you'd be walking around wondering why everybody was so rude.

I rate sarcasm pretty low. What hue does irony get, or is lumped in with its poor cousin?

Sure most people can't tell the difference anyway, two colours would just confuse them.
