technically, the PS2 and PS3 are the same since the PS3 can play PS2 games..
and if 360 is backwards compatable, then so is that and the Xbox.

as for me, I have two PS2, so I'll be picking up a PS3.

Why? Most, if not all, of the 360's games (so far) are pretty lame. They focus too much on graphics and sound, and sometimes the graphics are too good for the system to run at a fluid framerate with full animation, so they have to "chop" frames (thus the jerky animation on NCAA 2007).

Oblivion and MOH are far superior on the PC. And chromehounds is a simplified version of mechwarrior, a much better game, gameplay wise. Maybe gears of war will be good, but it's still an fps on a console, without keyboard/mouse support which while the 360 supports it won't be implemented for fps's because of MAJOR balance issues in online play. Same with chromehounds as in MW you could create attack macros which would fire different series of weapons depending on what you wanted to do.

Also, GoW may or may not be ported to the PC after the 360 release.

Sorry, GoW is a TPS but close enough that there is little difference.

All my love belongs to 360. Oblivion on a high def tv with surround sound is pretty nice, considering my computer cannot play, or is close to being able to play oblivion. I do miss the mods though (had morrowind on comp). COD2 is nice, and online in BFME2 is sweet, even if the controls do suck ass compared to the comp. My biggest disapointment is MLB 2k6, probably because I am used to the awesomeness of the MVP series.

I enjoy it much more on the counsole. Some aspects are better on the PC but all in all controls seem easier on console, plus everyone has the headsets making team talk easier.

It's not difficult at all and you can easliy move in a 360 degree motion faster than with a mouse... But to each his own. I love fps on the PC as well, but I just prefer it on xbox.

It's not really the speed of the rotation, it's the precise movement you can get with the mouse that I like. The joysticks are always too sensitive, and it's easy to jerk the crosshair past the target.

But, yeah, to each his own, if the controller works for you, then good.

I might have gone Ps3...but I have judged sony to be the single most despicable corporation on earth, whose corruption and greed makes microsoft look like a mom and pop ice cream parlour.

What they did to Sega and what they continue to do to their competitors is closer to acts of war than healthy market competition. That, and the Ps3 is the saddest excuse for a launch ever.

I voted 360, I'm surprised so many people did the same given the level of 360 hating which seems to be going around. PC for strategy and RPG, console for FPS. Console is generally better for RPG but I changed my mind after ES4, which was a great game but failed miserably when it came to bugginess and badly needed downloadable fixes. Any strategy on consoles (AoE on PS2, B4ME2 on 360) is an abomination. Blasphemy I say.

personally i'm going to stump for a 360 sometime soon... its just too expensive for what it is right now (true with all consoles, especially considering i hardly play games these days and would only want it for the occasional bit of entertainment)

i choose the 360 over the ps3 as i'm very happy with my current xbox, i dislike sony and the ps2 so there's a non-rational element to it, and also as i don't necessarily want it for a ton of great games (a handful will do me as i play so little) the 360 has other features i want, such as working with my HDTV, HDDVD (boo blu-ray!), mediacentre capability... that sort of nonsense.

I prefer the PC to consoles, but I picked the Wii because it is original, cheap, and probably has the best technical specs. The PS3 looks piss poor so far, twice as expensive as everything else and half as good if they dont fix it.

Saying that, the only console im likely to ever buy is a PS2, cos I love timesplitters 2, and I cant play shadow of the colossus or Ico on the PC.
