Senator's Son Joins The Marines

Now there's actually ONE Senator who has a living close relative in the active duty military.

It's pretty interesting to me, considering that none of the others have any close relatives in service at this time - it's just not the career move of a person with a high profile political family.

Reminds me of when I enlisted - except that I was 27, and quit a career as a software developer to join the infantry.

Considering Senator McCain's family has a long tradition of military service, I don't find this all that surprising.
But for his son's sake, I just hope McCain (or the military) try giving him any special treatment.

Wonder where he'll be stationed? There are, sadly, a lot of options.

I'll say South Korea...course, he's got some training to do first.

I wish him luck...I have a feeling he'll need at least a little.

I was really suprised it would be McCains son. Are you sure that he is the only stationed son in the entire senate?
