LONDON (Reuters) - A British woman has been ordered by
police to take down a sign on her garden gate which read "Our
dogs are fed on Jehovah's Witnesses."

Janet Grove, who owns a terrier puppy called Rabbit,
insisted the sign was a gentle joke to discourage callers at
her front door.

Her late husband put the sign up more than 30 years ago
when members of the church called at their house on Christmas
Day.

But police were forced to act after receiving a complaint.

"We were informed by a member of the public who found the
sign to be distressing, offensive and inappropriate," a police
spokesman said. "Officers attended the address and the sign was
voluntarily taken down."

Now, if the Jehova's Witnesses had any humor, they'd put a sign up that says "We eat puppies."

I do think that making the woman take it down is a bit over the top though. Her property, her right to have it up.

this is pretty sad - she should have fought them for her right of freedom to be humorous. It's not illegal to joke around is it? Does anyone really think she feeds her puppy JW's? If they do they should get some help.

Sorta. More like free speech supressed in favor of politically correct bullshit.

I do think that making the woman take it down is a bit over the top though. Her property, her right to have it up.

She should have kept the sign, it would have made more people laugh than get angry. But that's the problem, the police will side with usually side with complaints even if it's funny (Think Chas Licciardello any Aussies that watch The Chaser). People have no sense of humour anymore, especially when people insult them, lots of people need to learn how to laugh at themselves.

Given today's political climate, "Our Dogs Are Fed On Muslims" would sell out completely in the United States and probably Israel.

Sadly, the dog was relocated in a Jehovah's Witness Protection program.

My dog is fed on the following diet: door-to-door salesmen, fundamentalist Protestants, Jehovah's Witnesses, and idiots who must whine about everything being so un-PC. Yep... I think he's starting to get fat now, though. Fundies have a lot of fat and they're the only thing that's readily available around here.

I'd like to point out that the Jehovah's Witness' were not the ones complaining about the sign. In the 'Daily Mail' I was reading yesterday (I don't usually, as normally it BS), the local group said they just found the sign 'stupid but not hateful' and were not really bothered by it, so it was someone else other than them.

I'm trying to find the article online, but without much luck at the minute...

But yeah, its pathetic...
