The play delves into the psyche of a boy named Alan Strang who blinds six horses with a metal spike. The production is scheduled to open next March in the West End theater district, said spokesman Peter Thompson.

"It is an extraordinary play, and he's very much looking forward to the role," Radcliffe's spokeswoman, Vanessa Davies, said Friday. "He is maturing as an actor and beginning to take on new and challenging roles."

In one scene the actor playing Strang is required to simulate sexual ecstasy while riding a horse naked. But Davies said nudity was not the focus of the play.

I don't know about British law, but I do know that the theatre is seen much differently in US law than movies and pictures are. You can do things in the theatre that would be considered porn in movies, but it will not be seen as such.

I don't really get the court's reasoning, but it has something to do with, "Theatre was around when the Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution and they were clear that it shouldn't be restricted, but movies were not."

As a general rule, however, it wouldn't be considered child porn, as 17 is above the age-of-consent in most places.

and i'm sure he'll be 18 by then, I'm not sure what the laws are here in the UK in regards to 'child porn' but at 16 you can have sex, so I dont see why you cant be nude on stage as an actor at 17. I'm sure his parents would have had to consent to it if there were any fears of a backlash on this issue.
