Where Are All the New Issues?

Does it seem to you like we always have the same issues at the heart of all these debates? I find myself losing the heart for what used to be a passion. I just can't seem to get motivated about "pro-Choice, -life" debates or anything to do with terrorists, or religion, or politics, because it seems as though we have had the same arguments hundreds of times, and every time the same points are made, and then subsequently ignored. It just seems that making meaningful statements is pointless, since they go unheeded, regardless of who makes them. Anyone else feel burned out by listening to the same tired arguments all the time?

Yes, I agree with you. Its become a matter of just "lurking" rather than actually participating for me. But its still a great way to waste a few hours. ;)

I heard that some issues are only for nations with certain populations or levels of stuff (like civil rights) so when I got tired of getting issues I had before then I started picking options at random for a few days and got some new ones, I don't reccomend it though because it took me at least 3 weeks to fix my thing back to "capitalist paradise"
LOL

Well, you assume wrong. ;)
See, I first joined these forums in 2003. However, my first nation was deleted when I went to basic training, and this is my new one. So no, I'm not new. That would probably be why I'm tired of the same arguments.

Are you talking about the game issues, or issues in politics in general?
If it's the latter, it's obvious that people are going to argue about the things that are relevant to them today. And when you believe in something, you don't give up just because people hold different views.

Even if you were new, we've probably rehashed the same old stuff at least 3 times since the start of July.

I think he was talking about issues presented in the forums, but yes you are right about the repetition of the government issues.

Well, if it bothers you so much, don't come onto the forums...you have the power.
I'll never understand these 'why do people debate politics on a political debate forum' questions.

LoL! I guess the game is more realistic than I thought!

I've asked myself the same question. Though I've only been here since February, I've been on other political sites off and on since at least 2000, and guess what. They're all the same! Sooner or later, I'll get burned out and take a hiatus like I have from the other sites, but for now, I'll just stay here and spout. :p

You don't want to talk about anything to do with politics or religion, that makes it quite difficult to have an interesting debate.
