Since no one really seems to be in charge of the Palestinians, or really in charge of Hamas (they seem to operate in a diffuse manner and elements seem to do whatever they feel ike whenever they feel like it), I can see there being confusion.

I wouldn't believe it myself, unless the Israeli government confirmed that the soldier was alive and now home safe.

If ther is some prisoner exchange.. Israel feels humilliated.. Current President/party loses political power.

If there is unconditional release.. Palestine feels humilliated.. Hamas loses political Power.

My Chrystal ball says that whenever there is a cease-fire.. Both sides will claim victory.. as usual.
