The British use it to train some of their officers, with the Chain of Command mod.

I have it (and more addons than I could ever count) and love it, can't wait for Armed Assault.

I dont imagine anyone happens to know where i could find an indirect-fire script for the DKM Arty Tos-1.

I'm not sure sorry. I head an addon group named Wafare Videos. Basically, I'm working on a campaign that is all videos. I have a few vids, some are really good. But its no where near done.

lol, I love downloading too. I have twenty sub folders to sub folders full of addons. The WWII Thing is great! It adds about seven awsome maps of Normandy, Anjou, Omaha, Pacific Islands, Wake, etc. Good stuff.

I personally can't wait till the Falklands Mod gets done.....almost there (Been watching it since 2003!!!)

I think of it as akin to a flight-sim game, it really is a 'simulator' more than a conventional game.

It's a little dated now, and it never was as realistic as it thought it was (especially the vehicle combat). Back in the day it was promising and innovative though.

It has evolved, millions of addons have been added to make it much more realistic. Nothing even comes close to Opertion Flashpoint in realism.

That's silly, OFP isn't the only realistic military shooter out there. Plenty of games by Red Storm do, and the original Delta Force series is the same premise (although now quite dated).

The open-endedness of ofp is what puts it a cut above other games.

The most recent delta force incarnation is Joint Operations, which is a lot of fun, but a completely different idea from ofp.

That's true. But what lets me down the most is the sub-par vehicle combat. The tank and aircraft sections are so arcade-like by comparison that they totally ruin the feel of the game where they are present. It should have stayed an infantry sim. I'm mostly just shitty because nobody seems to have the balls to design a simulation game with realistic elements of different types of games intergrated into one, and vehicle sections are mostly tacked on as a gimmick. But of course, realistic tank combat wouldn't appeal to the shooter fans and vice versa. Meh.

I think the Delta Force series went to shit after the third game, about 5 years ago.

EDIT - well hey, just as I thought, I actually have Joint Ops. It came free with my video card. I've never bothered to install it.

Joint ops is sort of like the BF games, its online, ~30 v 30 with some vehicles, which have to be crewed. All the maps are in indonesia.

I think there is a blackhawk heli (has door gunners), a smaller heli, a hummer, a mkV boat, and an APC, and analogues for the indonesian team.

In some maps the smaller helis are equipped with machine guns, which makes for some fun strafing.

Its a pretty realistic game and a lot of fun if your computer handles it.
