Don't mean to be a copycat of the drum thread...

but, who is/was the greatest ever? I mean, hands down, Hendrix, but other people's opinions differ. How would you rank the top 10?

Mine would go:
1. Jimi Hendrix
2. Eric Clapton
3. BB King
4. Jimmy Page
5. Carlos Santana
6. Duane Allman
7. Jeff Beck
8. Chuck Berry
9. Eddie Van Halen
10. Keith Richards

8. Robby Krieger (The Doors)
7. Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath)
6. Jimi Hendrix (Solo)
5. Kirk Hammett (Metallica)
4. Jeff Beck (Solo)
3. Eric Clapton (Cream)

yeah, Hendrix is only six. Go ahead, attack all you want. I don't care. I think he's overrated. An innovator, no doubt, but still overrated.

No, I agree with you. The one I linked to was different. I was pointing out that it was my bad. Should have been clearer.

I don't think There's such a thing as "the best" musician; when it comes to guitar players my preference goes to Steve Vai, he's an awesome player, a superb musician and a great entertainer.
