For those who don't know I post from a semi-public computer. It appears some jerk spilled milk in one of the keyboards.

i just use a paper towel to get rid of the milk, then clean the board up with one of those wipes that are PC-friendly.

Depends on whether or not you own the keyboard and whether or not it was that irradiated milk that they sell in Japan.

If you own it, buy a new one. A USB keyboard is cheap. If you don't and the milk wasn't irradiated, buy a gas mask. This keyboard will start stinking pretty soon. If the milk was irradiated, I don't think it can ever spoil. Just wear latex gloves.

Take it apart.

Remove all the keys, take out the screws, remove the board on the inside and the plastic film. Clean it.

Which is why I'll be grabbing one of the IT expert neighbors in a while to assist is operation sink (this keyboard could use a wash as well...)

I pop all the keys and clean them with rubbing alcohol, aswell as trying to get all the gross buildup of dust and hair out. I'm not sure what "semi-public" is. This is my personal PC, I wouldn't do any of that on any PC outside my home.

You should honour the keyboard by pouring some fizzy soda onto it. Then lather it with some oily potato chips. Now THATS how you get it done! :)

I regularly wash my keyboards in the tub.
Just make sure they are completely dry before you plug them back in.

And if anyone spills liquid into a keyboard and you do not unplug it immediately it is too late anyway.

BTW I am a PC technician with 10 years experience so I am not just talking out my @$$ here.

Consider this: you could have had to use an Apple Keyboard.

EDIT:If milk was good enough to fry the keyboard, I doubt you could toss it into a dishwasher.
