I don't know premature this is, considering we don't even know who will be running in 2008.

I don't see why not, we were in the 2004 election.

Though Nevadan politics are very strange. Locally we swing from very liberal or libertarian positions to conservative, but nationally we're more conservative but keep re-electing Democrats to the Senate.

I feel sorry for national politicans who come in... especially if they mispronounce the state's name.

it all depends on the amount of electoral votes its got. The only actual place where people live is las vegas. seriously 70% of the state is owned by the government for military testing, basically it is a huge proving ground.

I'm listening to that Crossfire one (because the audio and video are unsynchronized), and he seems very intelligent and very funny. The hosts seem to be putzes.

People live in other parts of the state besides Las Vegas.

As much as Las Vegas doesn't like to admit that.

Pffft. If dead dogs can vote in Chicago, and my Uncle Tim can vote twice in California, then you Brits can vote in U.S. elections!

Rock on! Stewart or Olberman FTW then. And feel free to not vote conservative in our next elections, just like everyone else.

I'd vote for John Stewart in a heartbeat. Now that I think about it, he's the only person that I'd vote for in a "at least he's not as bad as the other guy" sense.

edit: Perhaps I should be on-topic for a bit.

The Southwest is going to continue to grow in importance. As people flee the Rustbelt :( and head where the jobs are the balance of power is going to shift.

Yeah, I don't know much about your elections other than every once in a while someone says "I don't have confidence in this government. Let's hold elections."

Oh, which is probably how you get retarded mooks like Blair. Dang it. I'm going to raise money to build a continent in the Pacific. Then I'm going to make my own country with GOOD rules.

And if Blair was even close to a lefty, that comment might make sense. I'd move to this island, as long as I could name it Bob.

I was referring to how you said the electoral system in the UK is like the US's. The US's blows. My apologies for the confusion. ... OW! Stop hitting me.

I have spastic arms, they just do their own thing. If you want them to stop, try a peace offering. A snickers bar would do.

That's where I'm going; Houston and Austin are two of the best and fastest growing financial-services markets in the US, so I'm going to have a lot of opportunities and a nicely growing salary. Plus, the weather's nicer and they have no state income tax in Texas.
