No argument. It has gotten very slow and it is getting very annoying. I noticed a stark rise in double and triple posts lately. That isn't good.

Starship Troopers is my favourite Heinlein book, i'm not sure of how many times i've read it. You're completely right, it is awesome! :)

I didn't like the movie so much. They did not make enough effort to replicate the book. Jerry Bruckheimer 4tehlose :(

Seen the film? I have the DVD somewhere. It's like Robocop, but more awesome cause its based on the book. Should've had the suits tho, for sure.

It's extremly divergent from the book, being based on it title, character names, and some snips of dialogue alone.
This is why there's so much antipathy towards the film amongst Heinlein fans. When Starship Troopers was optioned, "Bug Hunt at Outpost Nine" (the otiginal working title) was well into pre-production. And Paul Verhoeven admits he didn't read more than the first couple of chapters.
Hopefully the rumors that a proper filming of this is in the works.

On the one hand, Jolt can be slow, and not show the newest threads, or the links dont work properly. All of this is very annoying. For a few days, even, I couldn't access Jolt.
But at the same time, Jolt hosts the NS General forum. And I don't really know how I lived life when the forum wasn't in it. So, despite all its numerous flaws, it does rock for that. So I voted love/hate relationship.
