So I found a box of kittens in a dumpster behind Taco Bell....

Someone apparently dumped a box of 5 (five) kittens in a dumpster behind a taco bell out in Burleson. I came back a few hours later and 3 of them were gone (Died, adopted, or whatever) and so I took the other two home and found them a home with the neighbor up the road. I'll take pictures later. They are CUTE and adorable...I wish I could have kept one. Well, two actually.
Surely as a capitalist you should have eaten them alive.

or the mother came by and was slowly moving them
a cat had her litter in our garage, one day, it looked like she abandoned them, so we put them in a box, fed them (warm milk mixed with an egg yolk) and after a few moments, we notice mama lurking about. so we put the box back in the garage and sure enough, she picked up one kitten, and trotted off. after a while she came back for a second kitten, and so on and on... the entire process took a long time, Guess her new home was far away.

DM, heed this posters advice, make sure that Mom isent moving them about.

Too late, he already moved them and by now, Mama has assumed the worse.
Fortunatly, tho, instead of being killed, the kittens found some good homes with good people.

My friend's home is a far better place that the mother cat would be taking them.
No chance of getting run over, eaten..etc.
And I don't see how a mother cat could have climbed a 10ft dumpster.

Yes. I am incensed at whoever put those kittens there. WHY would you dump them? It's not like they DUMPED them in the dumpster so someone could find them. They dumped them so they'd be crushed by trash and die.

besides, the only other alternative would be that the other three kittens are in the dumpster itself. :(
Thank you for rescueing them. yes the mother may have been moving them, but the average life span of a feral cat is less than two years. I've been in cat rescue for nearly 30 years and always 'intake, rehab and find homes' if at all possible. Whoever dumped them in that dumpster is a blot on humanity - not that we need more, but kittens like children can't support themselvs.

ummm since our garage was turned into General Kitty Hospital for Pregnant Cats, I can see why people would abandon kittens, still, I would rather they call the Humane society. :(

Wow! This *exact* thing happened to me about 6 weeks ago. I think I made a thread about it. The one surviving kitten I still have and its a healthy, playful cat now.
Crazy.
Though mine was Stop -n- Go, not Taco Bell.

Yeah, speaking as someone who has a plethora of pets (including several cats I've raised since they were kittens), I can't understand how people could dump something that looks so helpless and cute. I dunno, when I see something that helpless some kind of nurturing instinct kicks in in the back of my mind.
But maybe that's just me.

Saddest case of kitten dumping I heard about, was 4 kittens about 4 weeks old abandoned in a large cardboard box.... to stop them climbing out the f***er  used duct tape to tape them all to the inside of the box and then taped the box shut before dumping them in with some trash.
Had to cut the fur off the kittens to get them un-taped:(

First thing I did when I was "adopted" by a stray was take her to the vet to get spayed.
So I found a box of kittens in a dumpster behind Taco Bell....
That explains why their tacos seem to have nine lives.

I had 2 large dogs with me. They are called my Yard sharks for a reason. Yea, cats, birds, squirrels, rats, and all sorts of small animals have all fallen prey to their mighty jaws.

You've never seen DM scale a 10ft high barbwire chainlink fence either heh :p
My best bet is the other 3 crawled off into the trash and suffocated, or the momma cat got them, or someone else picked them up.
I will post pics as SOON as I get them.

Why people don't spay/neuter their pets escapes me. They refuse this simple, inexpensive surgery (a lot of vets will do at extremely low cost, some even do it for nothing if there's a need), then they get upset when the female has the temerity to go into heat and get pregnant and they throw her and her kittens away (an appropriate punishment for people who abandon animals would be to strip them naked and drop them in Death Valley, if they get out alive, they'll be permitted to live).
I deal with feral cats on a daily basis, feeding them and trying (sometimes without success) to see to their health needs. It's so sad to see what happens to them over the course of time. Whole litters of kittens die because the mothers don't have the resources to care for them. The adult cats themselves, most of them charming, intelligent and engaging (just don't try to touch them) seldom live more than a year or two before falling prey to disease, predators and people.
Rescuing the kittens was a good thing, thank you.

Out here we aren't too kind to feral animals. Small house pets (small dogs, cats) get torn up by coyotes and wild animals. If they are visible during the daytime they are typically fairgame.

Good on you for saving the kittens. I hope the person who left them there is just ignorant and didn't know about the SPCA, otherwise they're pretty much a monster.
My friend has a habit of taking as many kittens from the feral cat that nests in her garage, the mother so far has been uncatchable.

Nah, I'm not the type to service anything on a truck other than the engine. I love big diesel engines.
