A question for my fellow US citizens

If Senator Clinton runs for office in 2008, would you vote for her? Why or why not? I'm just curious, because lately almost everyone I talk to doesn't think America's ready for a female leader, no matter what her political standpoind is.

depends on alot of factors, her policies, her stands on what she thinks the issues are... and who she's running against and what their stands and views, etc.

I won't vote for someone just because of a) party, or b) name.

No, I wouldn't vote for her, but it has nothing to do with her being female. She's too opportunistic for my tastes, and she voted for the Iraq War.

If a left-wing Democrat doesn't get nominated, I will probably ditch the cowardly bunch of incompetents sometimes called an "opposition" and go with a candidate from some far-left party.

i would vote for her if i could but im too young. i dont think she could be elected though with all the corrupt republicans repeatedly smearing her and saying shes too left wing. and i think america is more than ready for a woman president.

i wouldnt vote for her in the primaries, i dont like her pandering to the social conservatives.

if she were the democratic candidate i would almost certainly vote for her. ive never voted for a republican for president.

i can almost imagine a circumstance where the democrats have firm control of both houses of congress AND the republicans run a social liberal/fiscal conservative against her and i vote for the republican to avoid the kind of fiasco we have now. (where the republican congress and republican president go on an orgy of stupid spending)

but i dont see how a social liberal could ever win the republican nomination so its not likely to happen.

I wouldn't vote for her because I think she's too opportunistic.

I do admire the aplomb and class with which she handled her husband's public misbehavior, though.

Hilliary Clinton is a radical Democrat and she is stained by the Lewinsky scandal. From a poli sci angle it would be good for her to run in the primaries, it would solidify the base of the Democrats. The democrats have lost their base (most notably to me in Ohio) which is why they have trouble winning elections. You simply can't extend and embrace without a loyal voting block providing some extra arms.

Regardless, I'm voting Libertarian.

No, I wouldn't. Which leaves me in a rough spot because I won't be voting for John McCain, the likely Republican candidate, either. Nor do I want to vote for any other candidate because I haven't found any yet, Green, Libertarian, Constitution, etc., with which I can agree with. But I don't want to not vote at all, because I think it's my civic duty to. I have no options whatsoever.

Our politics are on opposite ends of the spectrum, at least with regard to capitalism. Write-in somebody with whom you agree. It doesn't have to be an actual candidate; anyone.

And if there isn't any human being on Earth who you want to be president, write-in Mickey Mouse.

The only woman I know of whom I would vote for as President is Condoleeza Rice. She's intelligent, knowledgeable, experienced, and understands both diplomacy and power.

No, because I'm repulsed by shameless, statist authoritarian panderers who go on moral crusades for political gain. Hillary's actions in the Senate prove to me that she is not the kind of person we need running this country, especially at a time when civil liberties are already being compromised in the name of national security.

In the primary no. In the presidential election yes. Can't think of a repub I'd vote for at this time. Once would've voted for McCain but he's gone over to the religious right. Don't want another president who invades because God told him to or who thinks 150 cells is the same as a 21 yr old.

I would rather not, but it matters who runs against her. If they run Jeb Bush I'll have to. In this case 2 strikes (failures) and the whole family is OUT.

Frankly at this point I would rather not vote for any of the prospects right now. But I've voted in every election since '72 so I'll hold my nose and try again.

First of all, Christopher Walken has my vote automatically, if he actually runs...because, come on. He's Christopher Walken. He won't win in a million years, but it'd still be great.

Second, I know nothing of Hillary's political stances aside from the Bird Flu (where she says we've got to be ready for when the Bird Flu comes and causes widespread chaos and scary death) and Video Games (where she says we should censor the hell out of them before they cause widespread chaos and destroy American families) debates, both of which she acts as a panicky reactionary, and in fact sounds far too conservative for my tastes (which is something that confuses me from a Democrat). However, until I hear more of her political beliefs, I can hardly make any kind of intelligent statement about whether she'd be a good leader for the country. She is an excellent politician, however, having used her penis-that-talks husband to assure that she has a firm footing in the national spotlight.

Third, in the incredibly unlikely, but invariably proposed battle between Hillary and Condi, I would vote for Hillary...because the Rice woman scares the bejeezus out of me. The only file photo they have of her, she looks like she's about ready to bite the camera. I wouldn't be able, in good conscience, to inflict that face upon the international community.

Eh, its either that or Canada. Maybe Australia or Germany. The French Foreign Legion comes to mind, but I don't want to live in France. I didn't like Paris when I went, and I sure as hell don't want to live there.
