Reading? The Lord of the Rings. It was time again. And a couple of books on evolution. And a volume of the stuff published during the debate on the constitution. Plus magazines and the paper.

Dinner? Hmm ... got a couple leftover pork chops and some tuna salad from a couple days ago ... and whatever else is in the fridge.

Listening? I need to attend to that, haven't been listening to music much lately. I'm old so I like classicl and jazz and early rock and roll (I keep hearing my father laughing when I make a disparaging remark about modern rock  )

Tomorrow? The house needs a brush-up, and it's my lady's mother's 71st, so we're going to the in-laws for a barbeque and family togetherness (I plan to drink a lot :p )

1.- "The mysterious flame of queen Loana" (more like La misteriosa llama de la reina Loana), by mberto Eco. It's his latest book, and he's my favourite author, with former books as "The name of the Rose", "the island of the day before" and "the Foucault's pendulum", along with plenty of essays and theories about the current society.

2.- Friday's night, so I am going out, so I guess it will be, if I am feeling like having a healthy dinner, japanese Ichiban restaurant. Or, if I am feeling more...fleshy, Tony Roma's famous for ribs :D (also depends on the financial status of my companion. Tony Roma's is quite more expensive than Ichiban)

3.- The soundtrack from the movie "Closer". I was listening to the seventh symphony of Ludwig van Beethoven before that.

4.- AXN channel made a contest for the best action short film, and several friends got a script idea. They invited me to a casting and selected me as their "heroine", so I'll be shooting several action sequences all day, yay! I guess ill also have to write some pieces of work for monday, but I'll have time for that later at night.

1. The Three Musketeers. Again. Beause I like it.

2. Dinner, right? This question was about dinner? I have no clue what I am having for dinner. It's 9:30 a.m. Much to early to think about eating at all, much less dinner.

3. Currently...the album "Round Room", by Phish.

4. What am I doing tomorrow? Well... I have a friend's party to go to (its her birthday). So...yeah. Going to this small party. And sleeping. Cause I didn't last night, and habitually do not go to bed before midnight.

Getting up very early to catch a train to Berlin. And hopefully studying... Don't. It's too fucking hot here. :(
Also, what's an Atmosphere class?

Reading: Artemis Fowl - The Opal Deception (thought I'd buy some Harry Potter substitute for a recent loooooong train ride, but it ended up being way less well-written/interesting/everything than Harry Potter. But still - can't finish now, can I? So I'm at book four now.)

Dinner: Dunno. Just had a fruit salad of peaches, strawberries and raspberries. Did I mention that it's hot?

Listening: Radio.

Tomorrow: Getting up way too early to quickly slip out of the house and run some errands before the heat gets too crazy again. I hate this weather. Hate it. I should do the laundry, but if I put it up to dry, the humidity will make breathing even more impossible than it already is.
I will totally buy a fan tomorrow.

Ah, but see, air conditioning is evil. I can see having it when you live in either a consistently very hot or a hot & humid climate - both not usually applicable here so I'd rather suffer a bit once in a while than using up that much energy. Not that I like it, though. :p I'm currently being reminded that I'm not made for anything over 30°C - and the forecast says it'll stay like this. *whines*

And they're totally lying on the internet. I looked up the temperature earlier and they said it was only 30°C - there's no way it was 38° yesterday and only 30° today. Nope, I have a fan, although I just bought it the other day. If it gets really hot there are 5 lakes within 20 miles that I can go hide in until it cools off. AC is really a waste up here, as it snows 4-5 months out of the year and it's really only hot for 3.

we get ice storms in November and December, flurries in January, and then the "big" snow of the season is usually late Feb./ early March and it's about a foot or so......not much.

When I lived in Hesse I could see people not having fans there, but I remember a few days when I was training in Bavaria where I really didn't even want to go outside because it was so hot. One thing that struck me about Germany (Hesse, at least) was the relative lack of real extremes to the weather. It didn't get extremely hot or extremely cold. Sure, it rained a lot, but it just drizzled, which isn't really anything to get worked up over.

Late one Sunday night after a long day in Globe riding in an observed then going to Phoenix to drop off a bike, I got on I10 thinking I was heading home (to CA). Until I saw the lights of Tuscon and figured out I'd driven about 60 miles in the wrong direction. I was too exhausted at that point to even slap my forehead much less cry. Climate change might not take effect in my lifetime, but the acidification of the oceans due to CO2 output is already damaging plankton. And as it was stated in another thread, it just so happens to be the basis of almost every food web in the ocean...
