Ok

Just be with them, their more important right now. You're friends will understand.

You've got a lot of emotion ahead of you, when my brother died it was harsh, the circumstances were very difficult, but I needed the people around me who could care about me the most :)

Thanks (& gals) guys- all of you...

We don't know for a fact how he died (that will be for the coroner to figure out), but I'm guessing he had a heart-attack and hit his head on something, looking at the way he was laying and the blood on his face.

If you say you're sorry, and give some sensible advice (Like, "go sit with your family"), but the event turns out to be a hoax, I can't see how you've done anything wrong. But if the guy's dad really has died, imagine how being called a liar and such is going to feel.

And I'll take a positive from the thread anyway: I hardly ever call my dad, let alone go visit him.
But I'd hate to hear one day that he's dead. Perhaps it's time to look him up and arrange a visit.

Until he comes out with "haha I was lying you all suck" then I'm willing to offer my condolences to the poor guy.

:(
he wont, because he doesn't see this as a joke on us, he just wants the attention and superficial sympathy of a few names on a screen. I expect quite a few people who posted their "condolences" were secretly thinking "what a twat".

I was questioning the standard of your English, not the intelligibility of your actual subject matter.

I work for a broadsheet newspaper and regularly write for philosophy periodicals, so my ability to rationalise, catch sarcasm and be informed is fairly up to scratch.

Oh, how so?

Well, english is not my native tongue. I really aprecciate corrections, so if you have any actual, precise ones, you can openly do them.

Oh, how interesting. I'm a writer for El Nacional, a national newspaper here in Venezuela, and I also direct the informative sections of a radio station. My english skills are not as good as my spanish, of course, but at least I manage to defend myself.

Or, to put it crudely, we could ignore the ****.
If its not true he should grow up, if it is true, he should go and talk to the people who matter and support his other family members, not sit glued to a computer screen.
Despite what you may think, people can form very strong bonds online that matter a great deal to them.

First page of the forum is starting a discussion...8 page is developing, and 24 page is spamming ;).

I know you were referring to him, but my point stands nevertheless. That's not the way to refer to anyone, even more to someone who is not harassing, or insulting you.

Thanks for the love part, but I don't really like those...Uhmmm, english word?, adjetives.

I'm so sorry, man. It's always tragic when someone dies, but it's part of the human condition. There actually is no "why," just the fact of it. Even though my dad and I were never what you could call "close," it still hurt deeply when he died. My thoughts and prayers are with you. :fluffle:

Just the truth. That's probably the most pertinent part of approaching these forums. The people here tend to be more "real" than in others I've been to. It's like one large community of friendly people with the occasional troll. *cough*;) Actually, I've been meaning to make a thread about that. Haven't gotten around to it yet, though.

Sure. I was quoting Doc Holliday from the movie Tombstone. Whenever someone issued a challenge, he stepped forward and said, "I'm ya huckleberry." with a particular smirk and a smooth Southern accent. So basically, I'm volunteering myself for the situation you described in your post.

Here, it is very rare when people announce deaths of loved ones. Now scat before someone reports you for trolling.

Yes YES!!!

He was good at "The Doors", too...

And I think his performance in Oliver Stone's "Alexander" as Philipus (I know I misspelled) was the only part worthy of watching that wretched crap of a movie.

Val Kilmer is nice, talented and handsome.

For what it's worth, I'm sorry to hear what you're going through. At the end of May, I nearly lost my dad. It was a matter of my sister checking up on him at just the right time, otherwise, he wouldn't be with us right now. How are your abilities with irony? The irony of a troll complaining about internet histrionics while *gasp* grossly overreacting to something he doesn't believe and thus shouldn't care about.

I find your claims to be unlikely. You came to internet forum because you find it a good place to debate but you entered a thread where someone claims to have found their father dead? You appear to have entered this thread for the sole purpose of calling the thread starter a liar absent of evidence and then several other undeserved names long after the thread starter stopped posting.

As for evidence that he wasn't just looking for attention, he got tons of attention from you and others and this person looking for attention did what? Left? Yep, that fits right in with your little fantasy of the histrionic teenager.

But thank you for posting in such irony. You claim the poster is trying to get a long thread and who has the most posts in that thread? The person complaining that the thread is getting attention. I guess you packed your vast and unparalleled logic in a box this fine morning, huh?

And given that you've not only attacked the OP but everyone who disagrees with you with the same vitriol concentrating on anything but the actual points of their posts, I think their conclusion of what you are is rather convincingly presented.

EDIT: Also, my experience is that the guy calling the guy who says his dad died a '****' is the histrionic teen looking for a little attention whether positive or negative. And apparently all the evidence, according to you, needed to prove something is that we've seen it in the past, so it seems your own standards have proven you to be what you're accusing the OP of. (And given that 29 of your 30 posts are used not in debate but instead in trolling, I'd have to say the evidence against you is overwhelming.)
