i just found a cool old video (http://www.hlj.me.uk/PURE%20METAL/PM%20guitar_0001.wmv) of myself improvising some guitar work back in the first year of uni... a video i thought i'd lost. so i figured i'd share it, and ask whether you other lovely, lovely people of NS have videos or recordings (hell, why not pictures too) of yourselves playing your chosen instrument(s) that you'd care to share?

share the love, y'all :)

I've got a couple of CDs of me singing choral stuff back when I had no shame or balls. They're never seeing the warm glow of the internet though.

I play piano and keyboard
I practised yesterday/wendnesday with our band, it actually sounded cool :o
We've got a bass, drum and keys, instrumental (post)rock ftw \o/

but our bassplayers amp's got a prob we found out, when somebody turned it off and on again the electricity dropped xD

anyway, I made something, uploading it now...
It's just my first experiment with Reason (an audioprogram), I did everything with the mouse (I got my midikeyboard a month ago) so it ain't too good.

enjoy it though

I'm in two minds about whether to post this (because I can hear every mistake I made and it makes me cringe :p), but hey, I'll go for it.

It was the first gig of my first year band (and I apologise for the quality, I really do, it was mixed for the live venue, not for recording. It's not my fault :p)

http://dl2.uploadgalaxy.com/files/5594924f43ea/Fridays_Words_-_Project_Impact.mp3.html

We had better songs, but this is the only one where our second guitarist actually managed to try and play in tune.

And for stuff I've written alone, check my sig ;)

Edit: I play bass btw

I have, somewhere a weird composition I and a couple of friends did when we were mucking around with the music department's Mac. My brother has the only recording of it that I can find for some reason.

Unfortunatly I can't get it online *grrrr*.

Most of it was jammy meandering crap with some crappy rap. But the end was just an improv guitar riff and some random chat which made it mildly notorious due to some... unflattering commentaries on one of our teachers :D

Somewhere I have a recording of a sax 'choir' piece I wrote in college that almost got performed by a professional saxophone group, but I didn't have my shit together (mostly because I thought no one would like it, but it went over well...aaaaannd then I switched majors...) But it's on analog tape I don't have a tape player nor can I find that tape.

I guess I could noodle on my horn onto the computer the way I did for the 'how'ya sound" threads. But I'm in SF right now working so I can't. I don't know how exciting me playing the sax into the computer would be anyway.

I've written some songs that I think are pretty good, but my recordings are all still on the recorder.. I need to invest in one that records in uploadable format, but I think they're all expensive..

If I ever find an affordable one, I'll record one of my epic guitar/organ compositions. If anyone likes that kind of stuff I'll post it. :p

Dustcap? Do you not mean windshield? A dust cap is either the centre dome on a speaker or a tip that goes over the valve of an inflatable tyre. Maybe there is some trick involving an actual dutcap here that I've missed, but if so please enlighten me.

Neat idea!

Here's an old one (not sure how old ... the last 10 years has been a drunken blur, but I'm sure I've only had this camera about 2 years) of me playing the drums. Sound is shit, but it's being recorded on a little handheld digicam. It's like 19 megs, so go make a sandwich.

Oh, and it's a wmv file ... so ... *shrug*. I suppose it would be smaller if compressed to mpg, but I can't be bothered.

I try to keep my style smooth and unassuming. I'm not really a rock drummer ... more of a funk/pop style. I also like to experiment with various objects as percussives. Good times!

I dont have any "serious" music of my own stuff recorded (or still existing copies) anymore.
I do however, have the results of a joke band a friend and I did called "Cannibal Clitoris".

Cannibal Clitorus was a vision of two South American brothers who came to a shitty Mid-West American town to make it as a Death Metal Band.
Did I mention they also seem a little in the closet?

The band is comprised of just two members, on Lead, and Rythmn guitar, and backing vocals...Gash Flamer.
On Lead, and backing vocals, Dr, (Monster) Rod vanHugenstein.

Much of the joke is in the witty banter between the two characters, wich is good, becuase the music is intentionally abyssmal.

Im in the process of putting the old existing 4-track tapes onto CD, and thus saved forver for posterity on mp3.
Im also toying with the idea of making a few cd-covers, and maybe..but not likely...a video.
For fun and nothing else, mind you...no one would ever pay money for it.

i have a few recordings of me playing my guitar. the first two are from Suite Folklore by Mark Andes and the last is just a simple blues piece by Peter Nuttal that i've been playing since i was about 12.

this one's a bit quiet: http://media.putfile.com/Romance-22
the bass is a bit indistinct on this, if you got an equalizer turn it up :) : http://media.putfile.com/Cancion-89
i messed around with this on audacity to get rid of the background his and ended up making it all tinny, still you can hear what's going on, so: http://media.putfile.com/inside-blues

I like the first half of it. It really sounds like it's going somewhere.

Then from halfway it sounds like a sub-RHCP instrumental (ie. a bit crap). I think if you should consider letting some good metal riffage come in at that point instead.

I agree with IV Stalin. The first half seems like its building up to summat; if I had any musical ability, I'd have a screamy "lets go" or the the like followed by a Silhouette-esque guitar riff. That said, the latter part is cool. All mellow and slightly chillis-esque.

I'm going to cop out for a few reasons, first being I don't have anything on a medium that I can port of me playing.

Second, because my little brother has just forwarded me these videos of him playing at the Whiskey A Go Go-
Tastic (http://youtube.com/watch?v=_Jxzc0MTG0M) which is one I like (I'm not a rocker but he is. Still, I get into this one)
Feeling a Sense (http://youtube.com/watch?v=_8aabKr3vlk&mode=related&search=) I really like this one, rocker or no, brother or no, I like this song. I thought it was longer and I was right, the video apparently starts at the second verse.
Walk (http://youtube.com/watch?v=yk3vAOHe67s&mode=related&search=) which I'm pretty much listening to for the first time...oh no, wait, I recognize it now...

And thus concludes CToaN's current round of Pimping His Brother's Band. (he's the guitarist/singer...)

Oh wait, obligatory website (http://www.angelfire.com/rock/grumpy/) (which also includes the obligatory link to MySpace...)

i like your new one accramia although i feel the bit towards the end of the middle section could do with more depth of sound if you get what i mean. a richer sound. and there's a bit at the end where there's a heavier guitar bit that is quite incongruas (fuck i don't know how to spell that after this many beers), it's a good place for heavier guitars but i find the effects too.... cheezy, more subtlety required imo.
