I don't find the idea of people having the surnames of companies they work for new or original at all. Historically, many people were named after the jobs they performed, smith = blacksmith and archer is self-explanatory. Two of many examples of one's job used as a name in practice. So if there is a future of people with names such as John Nike or Billy Bechtel, it's really not that different to what's come before.

Um, I'm not entirely sure what you're saying, but I think you want the Gameplay (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=1234) forum, not this one.

No, he's talking about the book. Hack Nike and all that?

Anyways, just because it's historically acurate doesn't mean it can't be used in a fictional work.

My surname is a rather old name. My ancestors were a specialist type of Blacksmith in Switzerland. Most likely Burghers who owned their own business in one of the northern cantons.

There's quite a difference between a job and a brand, though.
