Installshield wizard being stupid.

So I recently installed "Star Wars Battlefront" (Yes, I know, I stay behind the times to save money) and i get an error from installshield that says "Object Reference not set." Now I look around and come up with this (http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q110641) which tells me to download drivers from here (http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108322)
but when I get to the version I'm running (7.01) It has me download something that requires installshield wizard to be operating properly for it to install. And so it doesn't.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Have you tried running this file?

InstallShield issues can be notorously complex sometimes..

Yes.
Repeatedly.
I get the same error as when I installed the game.
The same thing happens for the update manager I tried to download.

did you do this:

1. Delete the folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Driver\7 from the machine.
2. Download ISScript7.zip.
3. Unzip this file. For more information on unzipping files, see How Do I Unzip a File in Windows XP? or How Do I Use the WinZip Utility in Windows 2000 or Earlier?.
4. Double-click the IsScript.msi file. This installs the ISScript engine for the version of the setup.

I tried that too, and while that one seemed to install ok, it didn't change anything, and I still get the error message.

Does anyone know of a way to reinstall installshield wizard without actually having to use installshield wizard to install it? I think some of it's files might have got corrupted during my last little virus crisis.

I recommend following the Zidane Zinedine School of Problem-Solving. A swift headbutt to your monitor should do the trick.

Have you tried installing something other than Battlefront, to see whether or not the problem is with the game and not actually installshield?

Yes. As a matter of fact, the things that the installshield site had me try to install would not install, and came up with the same error.
