news reports are showing pictures of canadians linig up outside their embassy in lebanon as if its a line to get on a brand new roller coaster. is the news just making it look like more, or are there really alot of canadians in Lebanon?

apparently some canadians can see humour in others but not themselves.

if you feel it necesarry go ahead and close this thread down as it seems it will offend the entire nation of Canada

This thread is in poor taste. Really.

Let's not tread on the sacred rite of hockey here for the sake of a few points on a political discussion board.

While this thread is in very poor taste, I was actually wondering the same thing. Why is it that there are, apparently, 40,000 Canadians in Lebanon, while there are only 25,000 US Americans?

Does Canada have any specific bonds with Lebanon?

Look, Canada is using Lebanon as a staging area. They're going to send all those Canadians over to Saudi Arabia and steal the oil. They're going to inconspicously carry it away in large gas cans.

They are preparing to invade Turkey.

Actually, all joking aside, that's an interesting question. Is it a result of a large concentration of Lebanese in Canada? If so, they're not espescially 'visible'. Are the 40,000 or so Canadians all Lebanese? Or do we just coincidentally have a lot of travellers there at the moment?

I just don't know.

It was Lebanon's tourist season..

Maybe they were offering missile-firing lessons at discount rates.

And everybody know Lebanon's tourist season is only open for Canadians?

I mean, I know there were many tourists there. But I simply wonder why there are so many Canadians, compared to, for example, US Americans...

That is pathetic way to use humour. Of course there are Canadians in Lebanon. Why wouldn't there be? Next you'll be asking why ppl leave their countries.

Canadians are actually going to bring about world peace through assimilation.

They put the pods in your house, and the next morning... more Canadians...

Probably something to do with Americans being ignorant dumbasses and thinking everyone in the Middle East but Israel are terrorist ragheads or something.

I couldn't count the number of times I have heard people say the Middle East is a pit filled with barbarians and uncultured savages on one hand.

As a Canadian, I'm actually kind of surprised at how people are reacting to it. I was joking when I was commenting on the sacred hockey stuff (well, partially joking.)

There are far easier ways to insult a Canadian. For instance, you could call us Americans. Get's us all riled up with 1812 righteousness for some reason.

Didn't you hear? Lebanon opened a Hockey Hall of Fame that was easier to find than the one in Toronto?! :D
