A Lamborghini just passed by me and I couldn't believe it. I've never seen any car that awesome before in my life. So, I was wondering, what's your favorite car company, or specific model?

I know it's a bit of a strange choice considering the options, but I've always loved the second generation Dodge/Chrysler Intrepid. They stopped making them in 2004.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v207/JC_Denton/88ddff50.jpg

The Intrepids have a nice, curvy grace to them - hardly any sharp angles, and they have what I think is an absolutely beautiful front grill. The length of the Intrepid really helps it with the sleek, aerodynamic look that I love; a second generation Intrepid is about 60 centimetres (24 inches) longer then a current (ninth) generation Toyota Corolla. The added length gives the Intrepid an elegent, sleek look, I think - it's a bit hard to convey in photos.

The Intrepid is, in my opinion, the finest looking looking breed of Detroit steel to ever roll off the assembly line.

Damn it! I've never actually driven them, just admired them from afar.

Ah well... the current generation Chrylser 300 (http://www.americancarfans.com/tuners/7041115.002/7041115.002.1M.jpg) I'm quite fond of as well. It's got a very strong, stable look to it, without being out and out aggressive. The high windows give it kind of an "armoured car" look too. I like its style, and although I've never driven one of them either, I've read that they perform well enough.

Ah yes, Mercedes can always be counted on to make something nice. BMWs are a bit too angular for my tastes, I think they have a bit of a utilitarian feel to them, but they're generally decent looking vehicles, I think.

I have no idea what you're trying to communicate through "etc. etc.", but in the words of Nelly Furtado, "whatevas". :)

I like the length, the front grill, and the curvaceous styling of the Intrepid. What are your objections to it?

So, judging from what you do like, you object to the front grill and length of Intrepid? The curvaceous styling is a bit more then what you'd usually see on a Mercedes, but it's not too out there - granted, when Mercedes does go the curvy route, they do tend to add more detailing to thier hoods, as opposed to the smooth hood of the Intrepid.

Ah, now that sentiment I can understand.

I've always thought of the Intrepid more as just supersmooth but... well... I have to admit, I can see lack of hard lines making it look kind of like an egg or something.

I dont like cars that look organic. I dont like all the mechanics hidden like some kind of magicians illusion that is covered in a visually seamless plastic skin. It just makes them difficult to work on and I know damned well they were built not grown. I like to see how things work. In the same vein cars can be too quiet and too insulated from the noises their various components are making. To be anything more than souless little boxes that careen around like mobile celphone booths for the blissfully dangerous, cars should be neither seamless nor should they be isolation chambers. Bikes kick cars asses for soul though.

from the time I was about 4 I have had my eyes set on a 57 Chevy Bel air, hard top sea foam green............*drools*

it's more realistic though to go with my second choice of a 77 Chevelle, which I used to have, which was awesome!!

Ahh, the glory days of Ford/Lincoln (and American, for that matter) car design.

A matter of taste, I suppose.

To me, smooth, seamless cars look like they're from the fuuuuuture!

Personally, I like the smooth, seamless look. Meh.

I drive a Honda Civic and my daughter drives a Mazda Miata. They're both good cars and I like them. But my dream has always been to have a Lotus Elan.
