Maybe we can a pool our wisdom and become wiser,
but seriously, I have learnt something really important in the last few days.
While fying back from russia(and helping to kill the earth)we encountered a thunder storm, very ,very scary, and I realised(it was obvious really) that I could die at any time so I shouldnt waste my time worrying about trivial things.

The most important thing i ever learned is very similar to yours:
Don't worry about it.
That's my nugget of wisdom.

People can seldom invent behavior which they have never seen , good or bad. If youve never seen a loving long term relationship (for an example of good) or racism (for an example of bad) then you probably wont do either. Who and what a person is surrounded with has much to do with happiness.
You never really find yourself by looking, inward outward or sideward. You dont really find yourself at all in fact. You make yourself. Gradually. Everyday. By doing. Reflection and inward thought is good to find direction, but it is no replacement for doing.

to the first, that is probably true, but can you ever avoid things like racism?you see it all around. But I do agree with you that your environment helps shape who you are.

I'd have to agree with NB's wisdom about not finding yourself. For myself, I think one thing I've learned is that nothing is as scary as you think it is, if you just take a breath and do whatever you've been anguishing over, you'll be amazed at how easy it was (either that or it'll be way scarier than you could have imagined, but at least it'll be over). That, and I've learned that no one is more concerned with what you look like or how you sound than you are (except maybe your mother), so don't worry about it.

I somewhat agree. One thing I have certainly learned and retained from seeing too many friends die far too young along with my own close calls is that I am mortal. I didnt have that sense of the surety of my own mortality when younger except as a vague fact.* Once I did accept it emotionally as well as factually It was like a weight was lifted. I was freer to do as I saw fit, freer to live. I became less morbid and not more. Death and destruction no longer were anywhere near as interesting to me. This is just how it has worked within me. Others are certain to vary.
* An analogy I can draw is I knew that everyone eventually dies in the way I knew that Saturn has rings. I believed that Saturn had rings, because people who had no reason to lie told me. I had seen pictures, read facts etc. Saturn had rings, no question about it. Once I personally took a telescope outside and focussed it upon Saturn and saw the rings though I KNEW that Saturn has rings on a whole new personal level. This is analogous to the way I KNOW that some day I will perish now.

Well, yeah, it's probably because of the bolded part. While not actually all that young anymore *sniff*, I still feel really young and immature and "unfinished" in my head - and I have sooooooooooo many things I still want to do and somehow I never do them (yet get older every day), so I constantly fail at the "Seize the day, it could be your last!" maxim and yet I'm exactly the kind of person who would profit most of it.

Today? Well, I would have gotten a whole bunch of unpleasant stuff done - none of which would even exist if I hadn't been procrastinating my life away for the last I'm-not-even-gonna-say-how-long.
So I guess the "Seize the day" thing would include not only fancy vacations and whatnot, but also things you don't necessarily want to do, but the doing of which will still help you avoid the nasty fallout that would ensue from not doing them. (sorry for the weird sentence structure there)

And you're right, your high-quality low-brow humor isn't fully appreciated. Which leads me (seamlessly) to another thing I've learned in life, that life is too important to take so seriously. If you think about it, this is why fanatics of every stripe have those frown-notches between their eyebrows: from taking everything so bloody seriously. I admit I tend to joke around maybe a little too much, sometimes, but I'd sooner spend my life laughing than frowning.

A simple formula-----
When to worry and where to put your energy---
When to get upset--------
Always ask "How far into the future is this going to make a difference?"
The further into the future something will make a difference, the more important the decision and the more time and effort and fretting
For instance: Who cares if you get a Pepsi instead of a Coke? Who cares if your rare stake comes out medium? It's won't make an hour's worth of difference.
But then, having sex can make a difference over 100 years into the future. After all your grandchildren will live then. And how your children grow up will make a difference as to how your grandchildren will live. How long and how serious should the decision be?
Life will be happier and far less streesul if you worry about the correct things.

A couple of years ago my father suffered a fatal heart attack at a young age. The after effect of this taught me two things that are useful:
1) You can either laugh or you can cry after anything and you'll be a lot happier if you laugh. That doesn't mean ignore sadness and pain but just acknowledge it's existence and then choose to move on and work towards fining happiness and fun, instead of dwelling on the negative.
2) Every cloud has a silver lining. All bad brings the potential for good, look for it as often as possible because the bad will exist whether you find the good or not.

What is the most important thing/s you have ever learnt about life so far?
It sucks.
However it's still better than the alternative.
The most important thing? ...Don't stick you dick in random holes....
erm..Honestly, that everything is based on perception, or point of view. One man's evil, may be another man's good. You must first look at things theway other people see them, to understand what they face, and why they believe what they do.
All bad brings the potential for good, look for it as often as possible because the bad will exist whether you find the good or not.
two things:
1) good point, and sorry about your father :(
2) I love your name. Attila the pun...thats great..:D
