Do you care about celebritys lives? I hate hearing about a celebrity who is going to get married or something. It annoys the fu** out of me. So, tell me what you think.

I think the reason there's so much exposure of celebrities is because so many people are dumb enough to care. So one shouldn't blame the celebrities. One should blame the public.

I like the current temperature of most edible ice cream. Not too hard, not too soft. If you like it different, play with the little wheel thingy in the back of your freezer! Thats what its there for. ;)

I think it's a little annoying. I mean, I flip on the TV to watch some awesome show like MacGyver... or whatever, and omfgwhatdoisee? I see that fool ass up on Oprah yapping about his Scientology trash, and how he banged his new girlfriend and she had babies without making a sound (bullshit). Or I see Paris up there talking about her lost dog that she tried to dry in the microwave. Or I get in line at the grocery store and find out that, OMG, OMGOMGOMG! Britney Spears fucked an aligator!.... Come on. It's annoying the attention they get, but the more annoying are the "fans" that give them the attention. Some of the worst are American Idol fans. Also MySpace junkies are pretty bad about it. Just thought I'd mention that.

The public cares because they're filthy rich...and who doesn't want to be rich?

i dont follow the lives of celebrities but sometimes the publicity machine is so relentless that you cant help but know whats going on with some people-- brad pitt/angelina jolie, tom cruise/katie holmes.

what bugs me is the publicity industry that surrounds celebrities and declares that everything they do is WONDERFUL. so, angelina jolie breaks up a marriage, has a baby without bothering to get married, and suddenly she and brad pitt are the most beautiful family in the world. *retch*

Well, they do it both ways. If a celebrity is disliked by the media, everything they do is a crime against humanity, like cooking steak the wrong way.

I really don't think anything of celebrities. They're just people like the rest of us.

"Celebrity" is a relative term. People who are obsessed with them, need a new hobby. I think the US news has been ruined by people who actually care about what these people do.

I always find it odd that because someone has managed to turn their choice of career into something that gets them recognised by more than a handful of people automatically makes them the object of disdain for so many others, thus adding to their fame.

Let me put it another way: Do you care if the person who lives 3 doors down from you is going to get married? No, you probably don't. Neither do the entertainment news agencies.

However, if a person is recognised by the masses, then their lives become a source of entertainment - either by adoration or disdain.

If all the world only cared about were politics and war, then it would be a truly sad place to live. God bless the jesters.

Yeah, I'm sick of all the tabloid crap too. No one cares, the magazines are just there to tell people that it's cool to read up about people you will most likely never meet in oyur lifetime.

But tabloids, in my opinion, are NOTHING compared to those awful teen magazines... :headbang:

Most of the time it bothers me that people even care at all. My two sisters are self-proclaimed celebrity obsessed fanatics, so I hear about it a lot. 'Us Weekly' has to be the most annoying magazine I have ever seen, who the hell cares where Gwyneth Paltrow takes her baby?

But sometimes I simply walk over to the TV, if it is talking about "celebrities", turn it off, and begin a meaningful discussion.

People like to live vicariously through celebrities. I like to do it through characters in movies and novels, whose lives are much nicer than celebs lives, but to each, his own.

I used to simulate 'celebrity survivor' through the Sims. I would simply make characters based off celebrities and then starve them to death. For example - Tom Cruise can last two more days than Mickey Rourke without food.

That sounds fun. I always wanted to play the Sims, but my mom wouldn't let me have it, since she heard about charcters stripping for eachother, and stuff.

The Sims is one of those video games that are brutally boring (I mean brutally) to watch, but incredibly amusing to play.
