Help me find a name.
The four perfect cats

I just got a new pet. He/she is a hatchling Mexican Black Kingsnake, about 8-10" long. Solid black in color and absolutely gorgeous. It's too young to determine gender yet. It was sort of an impulse buy at the Reptile Breeders' Show my daughter and I went to today (she got four new tarantulas). No pics yet, but as soon as I can, I'll post them for those who are interested. Anyway, I'm trying to think of an appropriate name for it. Kali-ma and Shiva come to mind, but I think they're overdone. Ideas?

What a lovely pet!
Choose a short name. I had a guinea pig called Konrad Lorenz and another guinea pig called Niko Tinbergen. They both ended up being called Piggy. Why not choose a Mexican/Spanish name or American Indian name from the snake's natural habitat area. There are websites that give huge lists of names from all over the world, intended for human babies, but that doesn't matter. Good Luck!

Cannot think of a name

One of the following will have to pass for wit from me, I'll allow you to choose:
"Help me find a name."
...
I got nuthin'.
"Help me find a name."
Hey hey hey hey. I was here first.
"Help me find a name."
Cannot think of a name. Not you can't, but rather name your snake that. And not because you couldn't, but because the snake reminds you of me. Or you want it to. Or it does now.
I'm sorry.

I'd go with Nero.
It is the Italian word for black, and it is the name of a notorious Roman Emperor:
"Like the notorious Caligula, Nero is best known for his mad self-indulgence and whimsical cruelty while emperor of Rome. Nero was the adopted son of the emperor Claudius. While still in his teens, Nero succeeded Claudius; it is generally believed that Nero's mother, Agrippina, poisoned Claudius so that her son could take over the throne. (Nero later had Agrippina killed to consolidate his own power.)" (answers.com)

Good name, no vowels. I like short names with no vowels. You can tell from what I chose as a screen name (Dryk). Problem with them though is pronounciation, you can pronounce that Nix or Nikes, which is it?
Drike not Drik by the way... if anyone cares... you don't?..... :(

Pics already?
Pepsi
Because mexican kingsnakes are black as coal, but really coke (even petroleum coke, AKA pet coke) is blacker than coal, just like mexican kingsnakes are. And your snake is a pet, like pet coke. Only I like Pepsi better than coke. So Pepsi. Or sometimes jolt. But that is too Nationstatey. So Pepsi.Definitely Pepsi.

I suppose it's too late to change the name to Pepsi then:(
