Ghandi quoted out of context

Many people often quote Ghandi when he says "One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter". This is most often brought up in Israelie/Arab conflict discussions to justify what the PLO, Hammass and other Palestianin extrmeist groups do to the Isralie citizenry as being the same as what the Isralies do to the Palistianian millitats.

Ghandi was (IMO) describing the cause they were fighting for, not the tatics they use

Using any kind of weaponary to instill fear into the civilian population of a country to force political pressure on the government is terrorism.

Terrorism is sharply distinguised from freedom fighting because freedom fighting involves attcking the armies of those who opress you, not the civilians of that armies country. You attack millitary instilations and millitary personall, not citizens.

Terrorisms sharp distinction occurs again with intention. Whilst some civilians will sometimes die as a result of targeting infrasturcure and millitary instalations, that is a long way from intentionally targeting civilian centres to kill as many civilians as you can to instill terror in the citizenry.

People often mistake the actions of the Palistinain millitants as being due to the fact that they are desperate and short of money. This is not the case. The tatics they employ are not due to desperation. Osama Bin Landen is a Saudi Oil billionare. The tatics they employ are to force political pressure on the government.

So how much fighting did Ghandi do? Wasn't he a pacifist that wouldn't raise a hand even if he was beaten down?

You may not know this, but Gandhi killed millions of people. The burial grounds are somewhere in the mountains, guarded by his followers.

Wrong.
The election of Hamas to Palestinian government and the future election of Hezbollah to Lebanonese government proves one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. You can piss and moan about quotes all you want because they are being used to defend people you disagree with - that's the fucking point of it.

Not to mention, are you Ghandi? How can you sit there and say your interpretation is right, no matter how ludicrous it is?

So you're saying they're not short of money? Wouldn't expensive terrorism (great big missiles) be a lot more effective than cheap terrorism (home-made rockets)?

Terrorist freedom fighters sure have big budgets. They invest vast sums of money into training and equipment. (http://img.slate.com/media/10/030801_liberian-fighter.jpg) :D

Like enforcing a 24-hour curfew for a few days and turning off the water, firing into schools, and standing by while bearded fundamentalists kick the shit out of the locals...for instances....

Terrorism is sharply distinguised from freedom fighting because freedom fighting involves attcking the armies of those who opress you, not the civilians of that armies country. You attack millitary instilations and millitary personall, not citizens.terrorism..

Which is what the Palestinians and Hezbollah just did....and fair fucks to them.

Terrorisms sharp distinction occurs again with intention. Which is precisely what bombing Beirut Airport was for. And what taking out the bridges in Gaza was for, as well as the other elements of infrastructure they've destroyed over the near 40 years they've been there.

Trying to create a false linkage. Next you'll be telling us that the Lebanese have WMD....

How does it prove that?

I said IMO.
