...and I need a witty protest sign. :)

That's right. August 5th everyone's favorite sheet-sporting hillbillies are going to grace a square in Amarillo, Texas. I don't live too far away, so I intend on joining the counter-demonstration, first of all because it'll be a good laugh, and second of all because I hate bigots.

Whatever I put on my sign has got to be extremely witty. Not just any bullshit will do. I want to turn heads with this sign. I want people to go home and tell their friends and family about how great this sign they saw was. Suggestions?

An old man at my store this morning suggested "The KKK is REALLY a ****** Conspiracy", the absurdity of which made me smile, but probably wouldn't be appropriate. It was also suggested that I craft a tin-foil sheet and pointy hat and sport that, but again, not really what I'm looking for.

Help me out.

i dont have a good suggestion (other than some wittier version of "race mixing--promoting world peace one orgasm at a time) but i DID read "freakonomics" last week and it has a good section on the absurdities of the klan. you mightwant to look that over and maybe find a website that reveals the secrets of the klan and use that as a basis of something witty for a sign.

Underneath which is the word "Idiocy". After the march begins, drop the word "Klan" and see how long it takes people to notice.

The only reason I can possibly think of for your indignation is that you're annoyed at the misrepresentation of "hillbillies" or those who live outside of common American culture. Which is probably a fair comment.

It is nonetheless the case, however, that the Klan is an illegal group of white supremecist separatists. They are also annoyed with mainstream multiculturalism and want nothing to do with it, which it could be argued is enough for the term Hillbilly to be applied.

Hillbilly has come to a more widespread general interpretation as an old-timey rural American. It has also a secondary meaning as all of those who live in any non-urban location with a reactionary view to modern America's affinity towards big cities and the culture that came with that urbanisation.

Well if you go around smearing people with bigoted terms like you did in the OP, you'll have to expect it, particularluy if you go around using a bigoted terms like "hillbillies" and "rednecks", especially given the highly bigoted steriotyping you just displayed. To return yet again to the example I started with, would it be OK if the Nation of Islam were marching and posted that "everyone's favorite wallermelon eatin' niggers were in town" and I wanted to mount a counter-protest, using that to show I'm not a bigot?
