Do you think china will ever be a super power, that is militarily, and economically comparable to the USA??

Short answer: yes.
Long answer? Would take a lot of foresight on behalf of the Chinese, and a lot of short sightedness on behalf of the US, but it is possible..And it is, ironically, what both nations have been known to do, historically (yes, in the same order)..

It isn't a superpower currently; China simply doesn't have the force projection capabilities to make it a true superpower and its economy still lags many other nations and the entire OECD in terms of GDP per capita, living standards, access to basic infrastructure/services, education, and so on.

Looking forward, China will emerge as a major pole in the world economy along with the US, India, EU, and a few other nations. However, the very fact that the world is steadily progressing towards a multipolar structure suggests that the concept of a superpower and the US as superpower will soon be entering its full decline; the concept and US power peaked in the 1970's/1980's with the end of the Cold War, and slowly declined during the 1990's into today. China will not be a superpower for the simple fact that there are too many emerging powers to counterbalance it; were China in its current state in the 1950's, it would have become a superpower but now it's just too late for them to have that kind of influence.

The US as superpower and the concept of the superpower both reached their apex in 1991 and have declined ever since. This concept simply doesn't work in the dynamics of the world economy and world political structure.

Only a matter of time before China becomes an economic superpower.
