Hezbollah rockets rain on Jewish state.
Posted: July 13, 2006

HAIFA, Israel – Hezbollah rockets today rained on northern Israeli towns as the Jewish state's warplanes carried out strategic strikes against the Hezbollah's infrastructure and the Beirut International Airport. A total air and sea closure was imposed over Lebanon.

Hezbollah threatened to use longer range rockets against the major northern port city of Haifa, in which case military officials tell WND Israel would likely launch a major ground invasion inside Lebanon.

The fighting today was instigated by a well-orchestrated Hezbollah attack against Israel's northern border yesterday in which two Israeli soldiers were kidnapped and three others were killed.

The Hezbollah rocket fire into Israel today, which continues as of press time, so far killed two Israeli women and wounded dozens more. Katyushas landed in the Jewish towns of Sefad, Nahariya, Karmiel, Hatzor and other communities near the Lebanese border.

The Israel Defense Forces confirmed several rockets landed about 10 miles south of the border with Lebanon – the furthest Hezbollah rockets have ever penetrated into Israel. Security officials say the rockets evidence more advanced features than others previously fired by Hezbollah.

Residents in northern Israeli towns have been directed into bomb shelters and security rooms, as more missiles are expected to be launched.

Hezbollah says it has over 10,000 rockets directed against Israel.

But Hezbolla is not a Country's Army.. they are a guerrilla group.

they are like ghosts of 5-year-olds.. with the sharpened sticks.

Possible, yes..But I'd rate it as "highly unlikely"..After all..wouldn't Israel's excellent intelligence agency (Mossad is probably the best in the world) have discovered those rockets if the threat was real?

Not really. We are not talking high grade equipment. It's been a long time since Lebanon was occuipied. Add in the backing of Syria and Iran.....

I just don't think 10,000 old small and medium range Soviet-era rockets are going to hold up against at least 10,000 precision-guided missles and some of the best military forces in the world. Hezballah has a lot more to lose than Israel in a fight so they're well advised to start negotiating...or they're going face drastic consequences whether they deserve it or not.

Hezbollah embarrasses Israel on the field of War? could it happen?

Hezbollah drone threatens Israel
NBC, April 12, 2005 ISRAEL-LEBANON BORDER - At a remote Israeli outpost along the northern border with Lebanon, every day is a potentially deadly game of cat and mouse, with the terror group Hezbollah only yards away, flying its flags. Israeli soldiers in high-tech observation stations monitor cameras and sensors around the clock.

The situation became even more volatile, when in November and again on Monday, Hezbollah surprised the Israelis by launching unmanned aerial vehicles, or UAVs, that flew over Israeli towns and returned safely to Lebanon.

Interesting..And no, I did not know of that.Hezbollah is not Hamas.. Hezbollah has succesfully humilliated the Israel military in the past..

Basiaclly this is what is happening.. Palestineans were being overwhelmed by the Israel Military boot (Isreal invaded and arrested Palestineans congresmen/senators/ministers/etc).. and since the rest-of-the-Wolrd was NOT willing/able to do anything about it.. Hezbollah decided to trow them a lifeline... by attracting Israel "attention".. Now Israel situation is much more complex.. any ceasefire is going to include the Palestinean side.
