I going to get surgery to get mine removed, so I was wondering how many NSers have their tonsils.

And what is your favorite soft food?

Thanks for looking! http://www.gopednation.com/smiles/banana.gif

Still have them. If you look under the bed you'll find some that I've collected over the years as well.

Food would be mashed scones and crumpets (any Englishman who says otherwise is lying).

Well, depends how soft you want it.

In extreme cases I'd ask for at least half a tub of butter in it as well.

It's Lasagne, and probably. I'm guessing the clincher is if it scratches your throat at all when you swallow.

They're designed to help clean the dirt, etc out of the air.

I was too young at the time to remember much of the surgery, but I don't think it was painful. It shouldn't affect your voice.

Basically, the only thing I remember is the morphine hallucinations.

I had so many "sore throats" when I was a kid, the Doctor threatened to take my tonsils out as many times as the UN threatened to do "something" against Saddam. :p As a result, I still have them but I outgrew all the "sore throats." :fluffle:

Good luck. Oh, and my favorite "soft food" is olives marinated in gin and vermouth. :p

Still have tonsils, no need to remove them.
Just a pointless operation.

And my favourite soft food is the soft icecream that swirls gently down from the machine nozzles into a pretty spiral design. Looks as delicious as it tastes.

Oatmeal on the other hand repulses me.
I can't look at it without thinking of cat food and diarrhea
However I do love Oatmeal cookies..

I have my tonsils & my appendix.

Yes, the dancing banana is much better than the stupid sniper "smilies". (Does anyone else think it's weird that a sniper can be called a smily?)

Favourite food? Hard to say. Maybe roast lamb with rosemary, garlic & lots of gravy.

I had to have my tonsils removed. It hurt like crazy. The ironic thing is that the hospital gives you all the ice cream that you want afterwords, but you don't want to eat it because anything that touches your throat hurts going down. If you don't eat or drink anything, they won't let you go home. I managed to eat a bowl of orange sherbet, and that satisfied them. I don't remember getting any opiates. I wish that I did. my sister got painkillers when she had her heart surgery, and she didn't cry that much. I cried like crazy after my tonsilectomy.

Tonsils function much the same way as one's appendix, adenoids, and spleen function.

Inobtrusively.

I still have my tonsils, though they appear to be permanently swollen.

And my favourite soft food is rice pudding.

I still have my tonsils. As for soft foods, I recommend soup/broth, jello, pudding, cream of wheat, applesauce, fruit smoothies or scrambled eggs. I had my wisdom teeth out last week and I'm still on a soft food diet. It gets old quick, let me tell you. I tried ramen last night, thinking I'd be fine if I really overcooked the noodles, and wow was I wrong. So, back to having cream of wheat for dinner.
