this is not cop bashing..first off.

i am actually pretty conservative,economically...but quite liberal socially.

i have to preface this by stating i was almost a philly cop,and my son will be a cop.(i failed the drug test:-(

i find this so despicable, that it made me think of why would someone do this to a kid.
i know kids and teens can be obnoxious, and think they know it all..who didn't,but please..this turns my stomach.

unfortunately,i have to blame the neo cons for this crap..aside from the fact they are sexually repressed(i'll elaborate)the whole above the law..or we know god's law and we can justify anything...the fact is..

we now have a bunch of bullies, running around with tacit approval of the powers that be.
unfortunately, the guys running around with badges and power are the guys that cant talk to girls in highschool, and are frustrated and angry(i see it everyday)so they become cops..what better way to be a bully...and get back at everyone that made you feel like shit in school.

then they realise, that aside from bullting girls into sex to get out of tickets..they are still nothing...so they turn there inner anger towards anyone that pisses them off..or who ever is unfortunate enough to come into contact with them.

like this kid.

all i will say..is thank god i own guns, cause if someone did this to my son,i would not want money..no..i would want your head a spike..and i would scour the earth for revenge..it was a kid...7 adults..and a kid in custody..cant stack the odds much more then that.

fucking sickening...but the whole cowboy bush.."were fighting terrorists has opened the door to these disgusting people...they were obscure and pushed aside..now they are full of bravado and throwing their weight around..never mind they are throwing it against kids...it feels good to them.

and you want to take my guns?....lol

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The family of a 14-year-old boy who died hours after being manhandled by guards at a juvenile boot camp sued two agencies Wednesday, seeking more than $40 million in damages.

Ben Crump, who represents the family of Martin Lee Anderson, filed the lawsuit against the Department of Juvenile Justice and the Bay County Sheriff's Office, which ran the camp under contract with the state.

Sheriff's officials rejected an offer to settle for its insurance policy limit of $3 million, Crump said.

The boy's January death led to protests in the Capitol and at Gov. Jeb Bush's office, the resignation of the head of the state's law enforcement agency, and a law to eliminate military-style boot camps. The teen died in Pensacola after his videotaped ordeal with guards in the Panama City boot camp.

"A video proves that as seven guards punished Martin by kicking, punching, kneeing, choking and slamming him while they jammed ammonia tablets up his nose and covered his mouth, a nurse watched him slip in and out of consciousness," Crump said at a news conference. "These heinous, malicious and torturous treatments led to his death."

Anthony Schembri, secretary of the Department of Juvenile Justice, said he could not comment on pending litigation. But he added: "Our thoughts and prayers remain with the family of Martin Lee Anderson."

Sheriff Frank McKeithen said no settlement has been reached because the investigation is still pending. A special prosecutor is still trying to determine whether to charge any of the guards.

Crump said he based the $40 million figure largely on a similar Texas case in which a jury in 2003 awarded a family $40.1 million after an 18-year-old died after two months in a boot camp. The teen had been forced to complete intense physical programs despite his pleas for medical help.

The teen in the current case collapsed after an intense workout at the Florida camp, where he was sent for a probation violation for trespassing at a school. He and his cousins had been charged with stealing their grandmother's car from a church parking lot.

An initial autopsy found his death was caused by complications of a usually harmless blood disorder. His body was later exhumed and a second autopsy concluded he died of suffocation when guards covered his mouth while forcing ammonia capsules up his nose trying to revive him.

Waylon Graham, the attorney for Lt. Charles Helms, the highest-ranking officer who was on the exercise yard with the teen, questioned the family's motives in suing.

"None of these officers set out to harm this young man in any way," Graham said. "I think this has turned into a game of money."

Ah, I remember this. It happened a long time ago. There was a bit of debate over how the kid died. The doctor who did the autopsy said at first that the blood disorder (sickle-cell anemia, if I recall) is what killed him. Except, y'know. Sickle-cell anemia doesn't kill people.

Awful. Just awful.

Edit: I also remember it being on Hannity and Colmes. Sean Hannity watched the video and said something along the lines of "They're not hurting him THAT bad", or something.

Christ, no need to jump all the cops alright. So the kid died, big deal. If he wasnt a trouble making little punk he wouldnt have been there in the 1st place. They probably saved us years of crime this kid would have committed once he got out. The police dont deserve to be called names or bullies or anything like that. They deserve nothing but respect and praise for what they do day in and day out. Im so fucking tried with people complaining about police brutuality and excessive force. If they tell you to do something, do it if you dont want to be beaten or shot. Simple really

1st of my kid wouldnt be in those camps because I would make sure they stay in line and if they dont I wouldnt care if they got beat in camp, it would straight him out.

you know in the Op you said this wasnt about cop bashing but you sure seem to it alot of it with your cops plant dope rant. Most cops dont do that and even if they do, who the fuck cares!? To catch dirt you have to get a little dirty. You really should learn to accept corruption and vile acts because guess what, thats what makes the world work.

you have left me speechless...wow

i dont know what to say..really...your arrogance/ignorance is mind numbing,

i stated i was gonna be a philly cop...lots of friends in that little gang..and my kid is gonna play with the big dogs...and you say i am cop bashing..i think not,all i said was i was not prepared to play that game.

planting dope...etc.

i actually knew a cop that did that(highway patrol)kinda a friend..if you can call a dirty fuck a gfriend..maybe you like to live like that, and think the world works like that..but i am kinda old..and it works like that for dirty fucks that make everyone elses life shitty..cause they are selfish losers.

the world works like that because people like you accept it..and trust me,i am in the "gang"and it piss's me off, ergo,i aint got the badge.

actually,if you had the misfortune to run into some of my friends...you would be beaten/robbed and incarcerated...but thats just life..eh!

all because they have a badge...while i can drive drunken beyond belief...stab someone to death..and get a pass, cause i got friends?

you go to jail cause your a nobody, and i walk cause i am somebody..nice world you want.

Translation #1: All juvenile offenders should be shot, the law be damned.

Translation #2: The police can do no wrong. Even if one of them decides to blow your brains out just for the hell of it.

What I have to say is this: what sickens me is I'm 99% sure that other families have probably complained of the treatment their children received at these camps. But, no one takes any of it seriously, until someone dies and then Oops!! can't hide that one! And I bet the only reason anything is even being (or was, apparently) considered being done is because Martin died -- because they can't make it look like a "bad kid" complaining. Because if a nurse stood by and watched it happen.....either she was so scared that they would attack her (which would also show just how violent this must have been), or she had seen it before and grown accustomed to it......just never expected the kid to die.

And speaking of expectation........I can't believe an officer would say "they had no intention of harming the boy"......isn't there a large number of people imprisoned for murder they "had no intention of doing"? What makes these guys special?
