Hey Generalites,
I eventually came to making an account at a jabber-server and wanted to know who else uses it. What is Jabber you ask? It's an instant messanger-protocol which has certain advantages to the commercial protocols. Most important is of course the fact that it is an open protocol and so everyone can start its own server and have it connect to the others. This means there are nearly no incompatibilities, you can choose your client freely and most clients are OSS.
