Cool Jobs

So there's this guy who gets paid to sleep his way around the country!

He travels up and down (and across) the UK sleeping in Travel Lodges testing the service and the rooms.

Although I think it's kind of cool, I do think it would be lonely and some what boring.

Does anyone know of any other 'cool' or unusual jobs?

My cousin used to have a job that seemed mainly to consist looking at property for other people to buy (Americans), and collecting said Americans from the Airport, (we are English) and then taking them around the country and making sure they had a good time, like theatre trips, good hotels, restaurants, sight seeing etc. She had a choice of nice cars from a car pool and a HUGE expense account......seemed like a dream job to me.

Well my job is pretty cool - I get paid to stroll around a carpark, occasionally wheel a few trolleys about, and that's about it. If I got paid more than £4.43 an hour it'd be awesome, as it is it's just pretty good.

I mean sure it gets dull sometimes, but then me and my friend who also works on the same job just piss about - like peeling the promotional stickers off the trolleys and forming them into a ball to have a kick around, or throwing paper aeroplanes off the top level of the carpark :D Good times.

I like my job, but I talk about it too much as it is, but I've had some good ones-

Projectionist. It takes 45 seconds to thread the projector, after that you're George Jetson, just push the green button. You have to maintain and clean the projectors to keep them from being a pain, but thats not hard. With seven screens you don't really watch any of the movies except through piecemeal, but it's still pretty cool. Most of my time was spent reading or smoking or whatever.

Ninja Turtle-I was a costumed childrens performer showing up at picnics and birthday parties (invited) usually as a Ninja Turtle. Pay was good, tips rocked, and there are very few jobs where people hug you when you show up.

Jazz/Classical buyer for a record store-It had it's draw backs but it had its perks, like meeting artists, free cds, free concert tickets. Having an excuse to sit in the back and examine a catalog instead of work the floor. Even though it's an out of date catalog that I've already ordered out of...

Speaking of elephants, there is a person at the zoo who's job it is to put on a big rubber glove and unplug constipated elephants. I remember a while back a guy died because the elephant unloaded in an explosive manner and he hit his head and suffocated in elephant doo-doo. :(

On a lighter note, you have to admire the guy who's job it is to paint swimsuits on Sports Illustrated swimsuit models. That's gotta be a TOUGH job.

Only once they tried the elf thing. After I got in the green tights they decided from that point on I'd get to play Santa...

Any job that doesn't require intelectual effort, like those summer jobs, would bore me to death. I find most technology and business related jobs cool :)

Doesn't everybody? I know when I walk into a club with my pocket protector and taped glasses the chicks just fall over themselves to get to me.

I'm four courses away from becoming an engineer and I never wore pocket protectors, tapped glasses or anything of the sort...working in technology industries doesn't automatically make you a nerd, that's a personal choice...

I suppose it's too early for a little humor, huh? It's ok. I'm also in engineering. You just need to reach out and embrace your geekdom. You'll be so much happier. I know I am.

Step 1 is admitting you have a problem, my friend. Just start with your name.
