Blame the American ;)

Not really. Too bad. Germans weren't the only ones who hoped that he would stay.

There was another thread about this, but I'll gladly repeat myself (sort of, just without the effort):

to be fair

germany, along with most other of the worlds "great" footballing nations, would not have got as far in this years world cup if it wasnt for cheating.
ian wrights article in yesterdays "the sun" proved a hell of alot.
the sides such as 4th placed portugal, with their winking and purposely getting players sent off, 3rd place germany, adopting a sense of bias towards referees because of their hosting status, 2nd place france, with their head butts and post-tournament threats towards marco matterazzi and then winners italy, with their nipple tweaking and slander.
no.
this world cup was an embarrasment to say the least and to think that young players aspire to all of this, tomorrows game is going to be much more about what happens off the ball and on the floor, writhing in "agony" for 60 seconds before running about again instead of fast pace and skill.

That's not fair. Germany was probably the least cheating of the power teams. The closest thing to a dive was when Michael Ballack fell a bit easily, but he did get elbowed in the face.

Name me one time when Germany's cheating helped them? Portugal got cuaght out becuase of their repuation against France and Germany, the ref wouldn't give them what they wanted

Other then Henry dive, one other dive and a player losing his temper, France where pretty good. Italy cheated once of any note yet your making it sound like theses times dived five times a half.

Ian Wright, nice guy I'm sure but his football analysis leaves a lot to be desired

Things like that get claimed every year, we may have seen an upsurge in diving but we still do see some fantastic play. Like Germany against Aregntina, Argentina against Serbia, Aregentina againt Mexico to name three examples in this World Cup

Could you explain to me how France got as far as it did by post-tournament threats? You do know what the suffix 'post-' means, don't you?
Also, how did having their captain sent off in the final help them?

Odonkor?

But, yeah in general who cares what English pundits think about football? They're always 'robbed'

That was an example of a dive. Nothing came from it though, IIRC, so it wouldn't have helped their campaign.

Unlike this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJrHkMc5_J8&search=Crouch%20pulling%20hair) very sportsmanlike behaviour...

You know I had been wondering what the Crouch hair thing was, now I know. Ouch

Yeah we English do tend to try to make a scape goat and claim purity.Rooney stamped then shoved someone, Ronaldo may be a diving idiot but Rooney has got to take some blame

Why does he live in CALIFORNIA, though? I'd love to live in Germany.

There is a certain percentage (somewhere around 99.7) of Germans who want to get away from the Grey. And of those 99.7%, about 1.3% actually do what they always say they want to do, and get the hell out. Klinsmann is a free spirit like that...so are my parents, I suppose.

Not sure whether you could understand it, but try.
