Okay, I was just listening to some random radio station and I happened to hear something about women in Japan getting paid vacations for having their periods! And now this is comeing to America! If any of you have heard this or have an opinion or whatever, please, tell me! I need to know if this evil will be upon us soon! I need to be ready before it's too late! And if you could tell me how too spell meanstrall I'd appreciate it.

If this is true, I better get paid vacation when my girlfriend has hers, because she makes me at least as crazy as she is. You might think being at work would be a good place to be, but not when you work in an office with three phones =o

Like I said you too, I heard this on a radio station, 97.1 I think. So it might not be real, but we as men can't take the risk. But dear god, I don't have a job, and live with my mother and sister. For them to stay home at such a unpleasant time.... I will lose my will to live. ANd worse yet you know that all women will abuse this.

Unfortunately I'm too young to get a job, so maybe girls could get time off school! That would be more fun! :D
In terms if it is real, yes it is. Japanese women can take a few days off for discomfort during their periods. My own contract mentions this.
I have no idea if it's coming to the US.

Really, I've never typed it in my life, never needed too, so I don't know. And I feel to awkward to go and look up the spelling.

Well that's seriously wrong. Unless of course men are going to be offered these additional sick days too, but somehow I doubt it.
Women got equal pay for equal work to be held as a tenant of our society, and that's a good thing. But now it's incumbent upon them to actually do equal work. Equality is a double-edged sword - if you don't want us to treat you different, don't go demanding different treatment. You already get sick days - the same as your male coworkers. Don't use your sex to get a few extra days off a month.

We'll I just had my sister describe the meanstrall cycle too me. (Yeah, it was pretty awkward for both of us.) It seems to be that women could be fine with maybe extra bathroom visits, but not a whole day off. Maybe I just don't understand how bad it is or something.
Yeknow, I normaly don't complain about minorities like this, but it seems to me that were crossing the line bewteen equal rights, and special privlages with this.
I must note that the country of origin for this, Japan, is hardly a bastion of equality between the sexes.
And just to mention it:

Well, if this did go through, women will slowly have a tougher time getting a job because they will be considered "not as productive" as men.
But then again, business already do that, because of maternity leave.

Seriously, this is just stupid.
You know, before reading this thread, I was going to post about how my scatological mind led me to instantly envision menstrual vacations, not realizing that the word was misspelled. Lo and behold, my lewd preconception turned out correct.
