What is the worst problem the Earth has right now?

Meteors. It won't change much physically from what we can do to it.

The worst problem? Overpopulation and the presence of religious extremists. Both problems might be solved with one big plague if it hits certain parts of the globe.

Of that list, the exhaustion of nonrenewable resources, global warming, and increasingly rapid extinctions are all major problems for the entire world, and overpopulation has the potential to be a problem for the entire world in the future. Hunger and poverty are obviously major problems for those people who are hungry or impoverished, but don't have the potential to affect everyone in quite the same way those others do. Natural disasters are kind of an inevitable part of life, and while the lack of good response systems worldwide is obviously a problem, it's a considerably easier problem to solve than most of these. As for "decline in spirituality," I'm not at all sure why it's on this list. How is it even a problem per se?

Energy crisis. The abundance of oil/fossle fules has trapped us in a state where we don't want to "waste" money on alternative fuels because they're still abundant, but we're running out so we have to.

"Vulnerability to natural disasters". Overpopulation will mean that we don't have enough resources for everyone and global warming will kill crops and cause flooding, but asteroids and supervolcanoes can wipe out everything. The land we live on is just a thin crust on a giant ball of molten rock, after all.

The Earth doesn't have any problems because the "Earth" is, in essence, a giant rock covered with moss, dirt, and insects. That upper layer of dirt and plant life should get burned off the rock is of no concern to the rock itself, because rocks are bastards with no souls.
That said, humanity's biggest problem is its own successes in creating civilization. There isn't near enough danger and unrest and there is far too much government and control, and so the entire population is being reduced to herd beasts, like cattle, that stupidly follow each other in circles until they get slaughtered by their masters.
The second biggest problem facing humanity is the Moon. Really, how do we know that its going to keep staying up there? We don't. The only guarantee we have is this "Physics" business which assumes that just because, so far, the moon has failed to fall out of the sky and kill us all, it will continue to fail to do so.

I think humanity's apparent inability to control it's greed is the worst problem. Pretty much all of those problems in the poll can be attributed to just that, save natural disasters (though in some cases that can be associated with global warming) and overpopulation. Energy crisis, global warming, animal/plant extinction, and hunger/poverty in the 3rd world.

So yeah, we're all going to die. Since life is short, party naked! :D

I would say the worst problem in the world is apathy. All the problems in the world would disappear if people took personal responsibility for dealing with them. Instead people either don't care or think that it's someone else's problem.
