One pill, once a day. Beats the hell out of the cocktail regimen that is IMPOSSIBLE to adhere to. The real question is how much is it going to cost?

Cue christian outrage because omg people are gonna have more sex....now.

It'll probably cost a lot at first (though significantly less than the current regiment) if it is still in testing, but one recognized and mass produced by generic drug companies, especially if profitable, it'll go down in price.

I'd say this is actually a huge worry. It's like what's happening with the HPV vaccine; the fundies don't want poor people to have access to the vaccine, because then poor women won't be punished with cancer after they've had sex. We can all sit around and mock their idiocy, but meanwhile they will be campaigning to ensure that more people suffer from potentially deadly diseases.

Naivety makes for a wonderful morning.
They arn't doing that exactly, but they are probably campaigning against it because they want to prevent young people from having sex through scare tactics and what better way to make scare tactics real than to get bans or restrictions on all medicines designed to stop or stall the diseases caused by sexual relations?

Actually, that is just a theory, but, I do take generic blood pressure meds, which are extemely cheap considering.

But, when there is a large market for a medicine out there, it tends to push down the price when it is widely use and some people feel that one type is more effective than another, as in the case of birth control or blood pressure meds.

There has to be companies making competing medicines - how many companies put out blood pressure pills? Basic shit. Which won't happen if one company patents it, which will happen in this case.

Patents only last a few years. After that, it's fair game.
